The Board of Directors is happy to announce that on March 4 th the first phase of Laurel Creek’s tree trimming project was completed. Texas Tree Team trimmed all of the trees in gazebo park, all of the trees in Shadowgate Park, plus the trees
around the pond. In addition they removed two dead trees. All of this was done for a very good price that left money in the budget for additional tree work in 2015.
In all, estimates from eight tree companies were obtained. Two of the companies had to be eliminated from consideration when it was discovered that their insurance coverage did not include workman’s compensation. Three other bids were for a lesser scope, but would have used most of the amount budgeted in 2015 for tree trimming. The bids were narrowed down to two companies with very competitive bids. The Board of Directors voted at the 2/19/15 meeting to award the job to Texas Tree Team.
Gazebo Park and Shadowgate Park were chosen for the initial phase since they are focal points of Laurel Creek and are used by many residents. Plans for the second phase of tree trimming for 2015 are now in the planning stage.

ExteriorImprovements
Because Laurel Creek is a Deed Restricted Community, any changes that you wish to make to the exterior of your home must first be approved by the Architectural Control Committee (ACC). This includes roofing, decks, swimming pools, fence replacement, painting – even if you are re-painting using the same color, tree removal, door re-staining, etc. For a complete list, or if you have any questions about a planned project, please contact Sterling at 832-678-4500. Exterior Improvement Application forms are available online at Sterling’s website at www.sterlingasi.com.
The ACC members are volunteers who act as quickly as possible to review each application; however please remember that they have 60 days to render a decision. Please do not start any work until you have received written approval from Sterling.
Due to a hailstorm in your area on December 19th 2014, many homes sustained insurable damage and have been replaced. Blue Ribbon Roofing has already replaced several roofs on homes in your neighborhood with more than a dozen others awaiting construction. Hail damage is a long-term damage, which often doesn’t show its true effects immediately. However, most insurance companies will only cover storm damage within a year from the date of loss. There are many factors that affect whether or not a hailstorm causes damage to a roof such as the condition and the age of the roof. The only way to know for sure is to have a qualified professional inspect and assess the damage.
Blue Ribbon Roofing is a fully insured contractor that has been honored for the last four years in a row by the Better Business Bureau. We also have an impeccable record with the Better Business Bureau with zero complaints and an A+ rating.
Blue Ribbon Roofing is also proud to be one of the less than 1% of roofing contractors in America to attain the coveted Select Shingle Master Company status through CertainTeed. CertainTeed is North America’s largest shingle manufacturer with over 100 years in business. Their materials are pro-duced right here in Texas and they offer the strongest warranty in the roofing industry.
