Immaculate Virgin, assist me in my necessity. Oh, Star of the Sea, help me and show me, herein you are my mother. Oh, Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth! I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart to answer me in this necessity. There are none that can withstand your power. Oh, show me herein you are my mother. Oh, Mary con-ceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee (3x). Holy Mother, I place this cause in your hands (3x). Sweet Mother, I place this cause in your hands (3x). Holy Spirit, you who solve all problems, light all roads so that I can attain my goal, you who gave me the divine gift to forgive and forget all evil against me and that in all instances in my life you are with me. I want in this short prayer to thank you for all things as you confirm once again that I never want to be separated from you in eternal glory. Thank you for your mercy towards me and mine. The person must say this prayer 3 consecutive days, after 3 days the request will be granted. This prayer must be published after the favor is granted. Thank you for favor received. W.J.B.

Paddle for Hope COHOES – Celebrating our 5th anniversary season, Hope in the Boat is a team of breast cancer survivors who paddle a dragon boat for recreation, fi tness and to raise awareness of the quality of life during and after cancer treatment. By paddling together, our mission is to promote wellness, and provide hope and part-nership to those on the breast cancer journey. We accomplish this through the ancient sport of dragon boating, which is be-coming one of the fastest growing sports in the world, and par-ticularly in the US. Team members practice paddling once or twice weekly in Cohoes on the Hudson River where the boat is docked from mid-May until Mid-September. Hope in the Boat is looking for breast cancer survivors who would like to join this unique paddling team. An orientation program is scheduled for Wednesday, May 2 at 6pm in Latham. If you are interested in attending the orientation, please visit our website at www.HopeintheBoat.org and/or call Lu Allegretti-Freeman at 765-2307 or Barbara Neiman at 477-9580. (P)

In Mid-December, tragedy struck Chrissy when just a few days before her 26th birthday, she was admitted to the hospital for a series of tests including a liver biopsy. From that testing it was concluded that Chrissy has a very rare form of cancer that is being labeled as “Adenocarcinoma.” The cancer has affected Chrissy’s liver, pancreas, and the lymph nodes in those surrounding areas. In the first weeks following Chrissy’s diagnosis she began receiving a very rigorous dose of chemotherapy. A recent visit to Sloan-Kettering Memorial Hospital in New York City has revealed that Chrissy’s only means for survival with this “incurable” disease is to continue this very harsh regiment of chemotherapy. At this point in Chrissy’s life, she may be facing a much higher cost to maintain her health care benefits while being placed on medical disability from her job. Close family & friends of Chrissy are coming together to have a benefit for her on Saturday, April 28th, 2012 at the Italian Community Center in South Troy. We would like to invite anyone and everyone to join us in supporting this very young loving woman who has her whole life in front of her still to live.
With the greatest appreciation,Family & Friends of Chrissy Connery

The scenario is all too com-mon. Drivers are traveling down the road, and a pebble gets kicked up and hits into their windshield, causing a
What to do with a cracked windshieldsmall chip to appear. Slowly but surely that chip turns into a spreading, snaking crack that only gets worse with each bump and pothole.
Having a broken windshield is not only unsightly and a big inconvenience, it can also be illegal. That’s because the crack reduces the effi cacy of the window safety composi-tion, meaning it may shatter in the event of an impact ac-cident and cause extensive injuries. The crack also may impede a driver’s ability to see the road clearly.
It’s important to note that liability car insurance typi-cally doesn’t cover a cracked
windshield that occurs in a collision. Instead, drivers hoping to be covered need to have collision insurance on their vehicle. However, not all windshields crack in a car accident. Many are damaged in nonaccident related cir-cumstances, whether this be a tree branch that falls on the car or a rock kicked up from the roadway. It’s important to read an insurance policy thor-oughly to be sure that nonac-cident related cracks to the windshield will be covered.
Even if the damage is cov-ered, it may not be worth the expense of paying the insur-ance deductible and fi ling a claim, which may end up rais-ing your rate in the long run.
Many small nicks can be re-paired easily with a kit pur-chased from an automotive supply store. Inexpensive and user-friendly, the instructions guide users through the pro-cess of sealing the crack and preventing it from spreading.
If the crack is beyond the scope of a do-it-yourself fi x, a windshield repair service that specializes in this type of work might be necessary. These companies use prod-ucts that harden quickly and reglaze the windshield so that the crack may not even be no-ticeable afterward.
Upon inspection, a mechanic or a windshield replacement company may determine that the crack is not something
that can be mended. The en-tire windshield will have to be replaced at this point. In some cases the windshield can be removed and replaced in the same day.
While there is no way to pre-vent a cracked windshield entirely, there are certain ways to reduce the risk. This includes avoiding running over any debris on the road that can be kicked back at the windshield.
