Concerning Sealed Bearings:

Many people have been taught; the more grease, the better. We have even heard of cases where people do not feel bearing manufacturers use enough grease in sealed and shielded ball bearings, so they remove one seal or shield and pack the bearing with more grease. These misconceptions are com-pletely false. Over lubricating the bearings forces the motor to work harder.

Nachi standard grease fill for sealed and shielded ball bearings is 20% to 30% full

Too much grease can cause excess friction, thereby overheating the bearing and causing premature failure.

Only a small of grease is required to lubricate a bearing in motion.

Wheels are shipped unlubricated from the factory. Insure proper lubrication, bearing pre-loading, and torque specifications are met. Use Loctite on all bolts. (See Technical Bulle-tin SB-0149)

For item 1, it is possible to have a 5/16-18 nut. Please check the hub studs before order-ing new nuts. If the studs are 18 pitch, order nuts F05010-17 and lock washers F05011-13.

For the 325EF series, the A150 foam-filled wheel is a direct replacement for the P295. However, it is strongly advised to change out ALL the wheel at one time, if you wish to use this tire. It is not recommended using both the P295 and the A150 on the same unit. Also, the A150 weighs nearly twice the weight of the P295, and deck lift capabilities may be affected.
