b. Locate and compile related document to the job request to do ( make a copy is
recommended)
c. Identify the materials, tools and step required to execute the job described
above and stimulate by related manual.
d. Establish the job safety analysis based on the step by step job description that
you have developed
e. Complete the PWT (permit to work) before starting the step by step job
description execution
A. GENERATOR, MAGNETO AND STARTER ON GRAND COMMANDER
1) Localize Generator, Magneto and Starter
The step by step work activities:
a. Reading the AMM Grand Commander
b. Go to the aircraft and find the location
c. Identify the item that we get , is it true or wrong item.

4) Finding Solution (Troubleshoot)
B. BATTERY
1) Localize of Battery on Grand Commander
The step by step work activities:
a. Reading the AMM Grand Commander
b. Open pressurization equipment access door on the left side of the
aft fuselage
c. Find the battery location
2) Battery Inspection
The step by step work activities:
a. Reading the AMM and IPC Grand Commander
b. Remove battery door catch with first remove the attaching part
(bolt and washer)
c. Place the battery on its position
d. Brush the positive and negative copper in the tip of cable with wire
brush
e. Connect the battery positive pole to the positive cable
f. Connect the battery negative pole to the negative cable
g. Check connectivity of the cable

Gambar 5 Battery Location
Our group has find the location of battery on Grand Commander Aircraft
based on the instructions contained in the AMM, but no battery exist in
that place.
4) Finding
The battery is not exist on Aircraft, not even the battery, the battery tray is
missing from the place too.
The Relay is not functioning/working because we try to connect the
battery and relay there is no contact between them both.
5) Finding Solution (Troubleshoot)
Our group finding the battery tray in the aircraft cabin and we found it,
except the battery tie down, after that our group re-assembly the battery
tray to the origin place.

For the battery, we used the battery 28V DC to replace the aircraft battery
function. We put the external battery in the position above battery tray,
then we connect the battery to the wire on aircraft.
We are concerned that the current does not flow because we did not
exactly put the wires on relay, therefore we try to remove the wire ties that
connected to the relay in order to facilitate the cable will be connected to
the battery, but we found trouble when we try to open the clamp, the clamp
is so hard to opened because of corrosion. We try to opened the clamp
until the time is up, but the clamp still wont to open.
C. EXTERNAL POWER
1) Localize External Power
The step by step work activities:
a. Reading the AMM Grand Commander
b. Go to the aircraft and find the location
c. Identify the item that we get , is it true or wrong item.
2) Result of Job Execution

We found the external power receptacle near the battery position and in
good condition
D. ALTERNATOR ON CONTINENTAL PISTON ENGINE
1) Disassembly Alternator
The step by step work activities:
a) Spray WD-40 to the nut and bolt.
b) Remove attaching parts (washer and nut (3,4,5)) and pull alternator
hub assembly from crankcase as unit. Use spatula to pull the
alternator.
c) Remove cotter pin (13) and pull assembly from alternator shaft,
remove woodruff key.
d) Separate thrust washer (12) ,gear assembly (10), and hub assy (8)
from alternator
e) Don’t forget to store washer, nut, cotter pin in the safe place.
2) Assembly Alternator
The step by step work activities:
a) Re-install thrust washer (12) ,gear assembly (10), and hub assy (8)
to one assembly.
b) Install woodruff to the right place.
7

c) Install cotter pin (13), and nut (7) until the gear assembly come
into one piece.
d) Re-install alternator to the engine with mallet to knock it until fit to
the engine.

8. CONCLUSION
The Electric system on Grand Commander 680 FL(P) that we identified is:
1. Battery, located in the panel side of the aft suselage
2. External Power, located in
9
Page 11
3. Generator, Magneto and Starter located inside engine nacelle attached to the
engine
The Battery is not exist on aircraft, and there is some trouble with the relay.
9. RECOMMENDATION
1. Repair the relay so we can check the other problem until the battery is working
on the aircraft.
2. Provide corrosion removal fluids such as WD-40 so we can open the screw
easier
