to date, 358,963 RAVE stars have been observed by APASS on at least 2 distinct epochs in the Landolt B,V and Sloan g’r’i’ bands.
median of internal errors of the mean on RAVE stars:
0.013 0.011 0.012 0.013 0.018 mag
on average 3.7 epochs
target 6 epochs
median 0.274 arcsec
Landolt (1983, 1992) primary standards
Henden and Munari (2000, 2001, 2006) seconday Landolt standards
Smith et al. (2002) secondary SLOAN standards
Mermilloid (1992)
Hartman et al. (2008)
- BVgri support photometry from APASS now available for 358,963 RAVE stars (and counting)
- median value for the error of the means about 0.013 mag
- no offset/trend and rms=0.025 on Landolt/Sloan photometric standards, about the same as 2MASS JHKs data
- rms of derived photometric temperatures 250 K
- no significant offset with Greg/Jon spectroscopic temperatures from high res APO Echelle observations of 571 well distributed RAVE stars
SUMMARY
- extention toward V=7.5 stars started (essential for accessing the bulk of spectroscopic calibrators)
- inclusion of z’Y band will start soon
- pilot survey of 100 sq.deg in u’ band completed
- analysis of APASS data of PASTEL stars not yet completed but so far promising
