NEWSLETTER LADYWOOD SCHOOL Dear Parents/Carers Welcome to the first of this year’s Newsletter and a special welcome to our new families who have joined us this term. The pupils have settled in extremely well and it has been lovely seeing them grow and develop in school. This half term we have held a number of activities to invite parents/ carers into school; the Reception ‘Magic Moments’ afternoon was a fabulous event and the Macmillan Coffee Morning raised a fabulous amount – thank you to everyone who supported these events. In addition, we have changed the format of our Parents Evening in response to feedback from last year’s parent questionnaire. We would welcome feedback on the night by any parent/carer who attended the extra sessions. Finally, we had our very first class assembly of the year which was based on ‘Harvest’. Well done to Class 6K! We wish everyone a lovely half term. Susan Important Reminder School will close for the October half term at 3pm on Friday 18th October and re-opens on Monday 28th October. Attendance
At Ladywood we pride ourselves on high levels of pupil attendance and
value the relationship with parents/carers in promoting this. We
understand that attendance will be affected by a pupils health and
also attending medical appointments. Time off school for other things (eg.
holidays, family events etc.) will only be approved by the Head of School
for exceptional circumstances and must be requested using a leave of
absence form which is available from the school office. We
appreciate your support in maintaining regular patterns of attendance.
World Mental Health Day #Helloyellow
We had a well being week in support of World Mental Health Day and we
supported the charity Young Minds in their #helloyellow campaign.
The children and staff had a fantastic time wearing yellow and taking part
in a number of wellbeing activities including yoga, mindfulness, massage,
emoji biscuit decorating and craft activities. We raised over £120.
