What? Our app aims to promote healthy and easy home

cooking, regardless of how little or how much is in your fridge. It specializes in offering you a delicious and easy recipe from a range of any ingredients. Simply type in the ingredients in your fridge into the search engine, and instantly quick easy and healthy recipes will be provided. Our app also includes Fridgebuddies, where you can share and like recipes, Around the World; where you can choose which cuisine you wish your food to be from, and saved meals where you can save meals you loved. .

Who? Our app has a versatile target audience, but is

aimed mostly towards university students, trying to help those who commonly struggle to maintain a constantly healthy and delicious diet.

Page 4: King of the kitchen power point final12222

When? Our app is ideal for every day use, usually

within the comfort of ones homes, mainly at dinner time as this is when the most time is spent prepping for a meal, but also at lunch and breakfast too.

Page 5: King of the kitchen power point final12222

Where? Within the comfort of one’s own kitchen, or

usually within a house as the app is based around the idea of home cooking, but would also require internet for specific searches for recipes etc.

Page 6: King of the kitchen power point final12222

Why? Our app has been created because there is a

space in the food market for an original app that promotes healthy home cooking for students without being overly expensive.

The problem…

A large number of students gain between 14 and 28lb in the first year, some gain up to 70lb by the time they graduate, the survey found.

A culture of stress, drinking, and unhealthy eating induced this.

Six in 10 said they have fast food meals between three and five times a week.

A third said they would be unable to cook spaghetti bolognese from scratch.

The average student gains TWO STONE in the first year of university - with the main reason for 'freshers' flab being stress.

The questionHow can we solve the unhealthy eating habits

found in so many university students?Eating habits that are so detrimental that the

average student gains two STONE in the first year alone!

How can you provide students with easy recipes when they’re freshman years work burden is time consuming enough?

Page 9: King of the kitchen power point final12222

The answer!• We believe that our app solves a genuine

problem within the UK. • We think that because the recipes are all in a

portable and accessible app, plus it is on a mobile which is the one essential that every university student would own.

• Furthermore, the social aspect of the app would encourage students to use it more.

“I think this app is a great idea – I really do. I’ve never heard of anything like it you should be

proud!

ACTUAL QUOTES

Competitors in the market Our app is aimed at the food market in the app

store , and although this is obviously a competitive market, we think our app could still be successful because our app targets a unique but prominent app which no other apps target. Furthermore, many chefs like to have their own individual app promoting themselves, but here the user can enjoy all cooking styles.

MVP User Stories• When building a Minimal Viable Product (MVP) the goal is to build something as

quickly as possible, release it to the world and get feedback. Then improve and continue building.

User stories:A user signs up to the app and gets value from using the app to promote a healthier

lifestyle for them while they are at university. This lifestyle helps ease stress and the user then finds everything on their busy schedule easier to manage as a result of this.

EXAMPLE 2: A user signs up to the app, linking it with their Facebook account and then enjoys using the internet to browse what friends have made and posted, including finished recipes and pictures of their own meals.

Feasibility, data content technical

Our app will use the recipes from professional chef, Allegra McEvedy. These recipes will be obtained with her permission therefore we are not breaching private data. We will also use the recipes/ links to recipes of other chefs, once we have got their permission. This means customers using our app will need internet access. Our app is based on a simple idea: to provide people with quick, easy and healthy food.
