I hope our children had gained new skills and knowledge in Term 1 through our various engaging

activities. Our teachers ensure that each child is welcomed into a supportive environment and the

parents will be regularly informed on our special events, fieldtrips and upcoming events through Taidii.

Our first centre event was Chinese New Year celebration followed by the Nature Magnified Launch at the

Singapore Botanic Gardens. This is the first year we are introducing the Nature Magnified to Nursery

Two. Do look out for their termly passports and how you can be part of their learning journey.

I would like to extend my gratitude to all parents who have participated in the “Giving Back Bazaar” at

Orange Valley and at our centre. All sales from this event had been donated to Singapore Red Cross. In

addition, we appreciate all the donated essential items for the Gifts-the-Elderly Hampers.

Thank you for your support and for partnering us, in creating a wholesome journey for our children.

` Giving Back Bazaar

Orange Valley Senior Activity Centre

KMY led the Zumba with the senior citizens from Orange Valley

Senior Activity Centre and set-up a therapeutic booth which was

the “hot” favourite activity among the grandmas and grandpas!

` Giving Back Fun Fair

@ Kidz Meadow Yishun

We had a fun time during our “Giving Back Fun Fair” which was

held in the afternoon of 8 March at the courtyard next to our

Centre. We opened up Game Stalls as well as Yard Sale Booth to

raise funds for the old folks home. We managed to collect $616

from sale of the tickets. Thank you parents for your generosity!

Warisan Budaya

Children were introduced to

traditional games such as

Chapteh, Batu Selembat,

Gasing, Goli and Congkak.

Children put on their traditional clothes and had

fun posing in front of our “Pondok Warisan”.

Children learned about traditional kueh

such as Onde-onde, Kueh Lapis, Koci,

Lopi, Nagasari.

Teachers’ Training on 22 March 2019

During the centre closure, teachers upgrade their skills and knowledge in creating a self-directed learning environment. They

also learned how to integrate music and culture into the curriculum.

Teachers learned to design the classroom layout using recycled materials.

华文真有趣第一季度大量采用了美术活动授课方式。通过美术活动，不仅让幼

儿们学到了新的知识，还培养了幼儿的动手能力。

在文化课上，小朋友们手工制作“龙”。小朋友们用自己的手掌沾上颜料在白纸上印出手掌画。然后将自己的手掌印画进行拼接，形成一条“龙”。最后进行舞龙表演。通过舞龙活动,让幼儿了解舞龙是中华民族的传统民俗文化活动，以舞龙的方式来祈求平安和吉祥。

小朋友在很认真的粘贴“大树” 看、这是我们粘贴的“梅花”。真漂亮！

新年到了，这是我们做的吉祥新年鱼。代表着年年有余。

Infant Care

Infants enjoyed storytelling sessions by Teacher Diyanah & Teacher Nandini.

Teachers read their favourite book ‘Happy Ducks’. During storytelling, infants

were able to look at the colourful pictures in the book.

Toddler

Let’s take a closer look at how our little children showed their care for their

surroundings. In this picture, the Toddler classes – Moana & Winnie the Pooh -

watered the plants after their nature walk. This simple activity would help them

to develop socio-responsibility. Simple things can yield great outcomes with our

young learners.

The Toddler children really enjoyed spending their time at the playground. They

were able to explore different areas of the playground. Play provides a vital role

in the child’s development especially in their gross motor skills such as walking,

jumping, climbing and other bodily movements.
