The Kala Ghoda Art District is a crescent-

shaped precinct, with its concentration of

museums, art galleries, educational institu-

tions, boutiques and restaurants, has the finest

array of heritage buildings in the city and has

emerged as an important art and cultural

centre, thronged by visitors and tourists from

across the globe.

Kala Ghoda’s buildings give the area a distinct

visual identity. There are over 100,000 square

feet of existing indoor gallery space, mass

outdoor pavement galleries and exhibition

spaces within the covered arcades, making

the area a living, breathing Urban Museum.

Support infrastructure like lecture halls,

convocation halls and conference facilities, in

Mumbai University, Elphinstone College and

other institutions, gives the precinct a unique

place in the world of art and culture.

Kala Ghoda is a magnet for creative talent.

Artists, food connoisseurs, fashion designers,

architecture buffs; they flock here.

helped physically improve the area, restoring

buildings and facades, installing people-friendly

In addition to the festival, we organise sessions for schools every year. occasion some of the restaurants in the neighbourhood have put up a

delicious feast.

Each of the participating restaurants has put together a special menu called the

'Flavours Of Kala Ghoda' to showcase dishes curated specially for these 9

days of the festival. Each menu is different and unique to the cuisine and

Masoom Rajwani Masoom Rajwani is one the youngest and most promising stand-up acts on the scene and one of the few Sindhis who refuses to do a Sindhi joke.

Manik Mahna Manik Mahna is an Indian comedian from Delhi. His style of dry, almost offensive but in a funny sort of way comedy is what he's loved for. Manik is an Ultimate Street Dance battle champion.

A short film on the recent restoration of the synagogue at Kala Ghoda will be followed by a presentation by architect Abha Narain Lambah, and conversation with patron and founding member of the Kala Ghoda Association, Sangita Jindal.
