The new school year has been going great. We’ve had numerous events since the year started, and there’s been plenty of Key Clubbers to help out. Let’s all keep up the great work. I hope to continue seeing everyone at the meetings and at all our service events.

Yours in Care and Service,

Trevor Wood

From The Editor

YUDA Bands Throughout September and into October, our club was selling YUDA bands for $7.00 each. This amazing project went to providing tuition for underprivileged children in Guatemala. Our Key Club sold over 200 bands! The money raised from these bands was enough to fully provide education to one student for a year, and partially fund another. Due to the efforts of all Key Clubbers, we can proudly say this fundraiser was a success. Thank you to everyone who bought or sold any bands.

Member of the Month Starting next month, we will be bringing back Member of the Month! Each month, a different general member will be selected for this title. The decision will be based upon a member’s participation, enthusiasm, and how they live up to the Key Club Motto.

Fall Rally Sunday October 12th marked the 2014 New Jersey District Fall Rally. Fall Rally is the

largest gathering of Key Clubbers from all over New Jersey, and it acts as a way to get motivated and excited for the new service year. It is held annually at Six Flags Great Adventure, and provides a great way to learn more about Key Club.

This year Fall Rally attendance reached over 3000 Key Clubbers from across and New Jersey and over 70 just from Livingston. After listening to speeches from the District Governors, and from important members from both Kiwanis and other Key Clubs, everyone had the opportunity to spend the rest of the day having fun at Six Flags.

If you liked Fall Rally, or you are just interested in becoming more involved in Key Club, you are encouraged to join as at District Convention in March.

Miracle Walk Page 4

On October 5th, our Key Club helped at the 14th annual Miracle Walk at Verona Park. Key Clubber Eileen Dong wrote an article about the event:

The Miracle walk was to help benefit the neonatal intensive-care unit, which is in charge of

taking care of premature newborns. At 7 a.m., the first shift of Key Clubbers came and helped with many things such as setting up tents, posting signs, and stringing balloons. There were many other volunteers outside of key club and everyone worked together to make the walk a big success. After two hours or so of setting up, families started walking in and they enjoyed the food, songs, as well as the face painting and balloon animals while everyone was signing in and taking team photos. The event was so much fun for everyone, and we all came together for an amazing cause.

Our Club also worked at the 15th annual Art at the Oval at the end of the September. We helped to set up the event, and run various activities. The event was very exciting, and everyone had lots of fun helping out.
