5/6 Brilliant!!!!.

Welcome, Welcome to the first of our weekly newsletters.

I truly hope all of the grade 5 & 6 students enjoyed their

first day yesterday as I know I did! I have bombarded

families with many notes etc, so apologies for that,

however, I do like to keep parents and families informed

of our happenings. I do feel a little like a broken record,

but I would like to stress the importance of having you on

the dojo app. I know some of the codes have not worked

so I have sent home another code today for you to scan if

you have not already successfully joined us in dojo land!

I have kick-started the testing already for the year and this

will continue for a few weeks! This is giving me up to date

information on each child’s level.

If you have not already done so please could

your child have a pencil case, headphones, art

smock and 2 boxes of tissues sent to school

I am excited to get stuck into the year and would

like to reiterate to you that if you have any issues,

please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Thanks Ms. Closter & Mrs Morris

maths, cooking, craft or whatever you think you might be able to offer! Come and see me if you would like to volunteer - your child will love to see you in the school!

Shirley

Magical Grade 1/2…...

Welcome back to everyone for a new school year in 2020! It has been great to see the grade 1/2s back and ready for learning. i am enjoying being their 'caretaker' teacher for a short while! We have welcomed 2 new students to our grade which is fabulous - so look out for Sierrah and Zain!

Most of our work this week has been centred around building routines and getting along skills. We have been having lots of fun playing cooperatively, setting up our equipment and organising things.

We are looking for parent helpers for reading,

Grade 3/4 happenings

Dear everyone,

Welcome to our 2020 year of learning.

We anticipate a wonderful time with you full of challenges, high expectations, and teamwork.

This year Mr Adams will be in our classroom Thursdays and Fridays with Mrs Mac coming in Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

The SAKGP will be happening on a Tuesday, possibly beginning in a few weeks’ time. If anyone out there could offer to assist let us know.

P.E. will happening on Wednesdays.

We expect every student to begin home reading from day one. Could you please sign the diary as read so we can keep track of how much reading practise your child is completing. It is really important to practise everyday.

Please read all our notes today and try to sign them and return them A.S.A.P.

We shall be conducting interviews to get to know

you and your student soon, however if you have some information you would like to share sooner, please do not hesitate to make an appointment time to catch us. We are both at school on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Every child is required to bring a drink bottle for water. Please name these. Students are able to drink to think anytime.

We look forward to working with you throughout the year.

Welcome everyone. Be your best.

Mr Adams and Mrs Mac

Children should leave their bankbooks on Mrs Hoppy’s desk.

their child with the Commonwealth Bank.

Updated advice on coronavirus: Thursday 30th January 2020

Dear Parents,

As you may be aware, the situation regarding the emerging outbreak of novel coronavirus has continued to evolve.

The Commonwealth’s Chief Medical Officer and Victoria’s Chief Health Officer have this afternoon recommended a stronger precautionary approach to managing coronavirus for travellers returned from Hubei province.

This recommendation is that parents/guardians/carers of students should ensure that any returning student is isolated at home and should not attend school for 14 days:

following exposure to any confirmed novel coronavirus case; or

after leaving Hubei Province.

This same advice applies to any staff who have returned or are returning from Hubei province.

The Chief Health Officer’s current advice is that staff and students do not need to be isolated at home if they have recently travelled in other parts of China or other countries and are not showing any symptoms of the virus.

If you think a student or staff member is showing relevant symptoms, please ask the student’s parents/guardians/carers or the staff member to call the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to discuss further actions on 1300 651 160.

Additional advice and information on the steps to take can be found on the coronavirus web page which also includes advice on:

continuity of learning for students who are not attending school

international students and families hosting

international travel

maintaining good health hygiene at school

health promotion posters and materials

information, resources and contacts related to coronavirus.

Contact the school if you require further advice.

Thank you for your continued support and work to ensure the health and wellbeing of your school community.

This new advice is based on the latest expert recommendations of the Commonwealth’s Chief Medical Officer and Victoria’s Chief Health Officer. Thank you for your cooperation in implementing these recommendations.

Dr David Howes Deputy Secretary School and Regional Services
