June 2, 2017 Become immersed in a world of top chefs, fine wines, beautiful homes, acclaimed artists, and the quintessential oceanfront charm of Kennebunkport. The Kennebunkport Festival is six days of fun, food and drink, with events ranging from cocktail parties to beautifully prepared din- ners created by some of Maine’s finest chefs in the Kennebunks’ most beautiful homes, to a Grand Tasting Party, Maine Craft Music Festival, The Grand Finale and more. Ticket prices vary, and new this year is a $495 festival pass that gets you into most events. One of the highlights of the festi- val is the Spirit of Maine party, which is full of music, fabulous food and cocktails and all takes place under a big white tent along the Kennebunk River. The Kennebunkport Festival is

six days of fun, food and drink,

with events ranging from cocktail

parties to beautifully prepared din-

ners created by some of Maine’s

more.

Wednesday, June 14 Fishing for Freedom, 10 to 10:30 AM,

Breakwater at Gooch’s Beach and Colony

Beach. Support Maine’s wounded heroes and

join in sending them off for a day of fishing

on the ocean. Hand-held American flags will

be given to spectators. Free.

LAUNCH Kickoff Party, 5 to 7 PM, White

Columns, Kennebunkport. Enjoy live music,

delicious bites, great conversation and the

debut of Kennebunkport Brewing Company’s

Launch! Ale.

Thursday, June 15 Progressive Dinner, 5 to 9 PM,

Sirens Soiree, 6 to 9 PM, Bentley’s

Museum, 345 Old Post Road, Arundel.

The Arundel Historical Society is proud

to announce the first annual Sirens Soi-

ree: A Tail of Our History. $50 per

person, pre-purchased tickets required.

Friday, June 16

Retail Treasure Hunt, 10 to 4 PM,

various stores throughout the Kenne-

bunks. Pick up a treasure map that

highlights local shops and collect

stamps from each location; return your

completed map to the Chamber Kiosk

in Lower Village or the office at 16

Water St., Kennebunk, which will be

entered in a drawing for prizes.

Living History Costumed Storytell-ers, 10 to 4 PM, locations throughout

Kennebunk and Kennebunkport.

Kennebunkport Brewing Company Tour, 11 AM to 5 PM, KBC Shipyard

Store, 8 Western Ave. #14, Kennebunk. The

opportunity to learn and taste a variety of

hand-brewed Shipyard/Kennebunkport Brew-

ing products. Free.

Kennebunk Historic District Walking Tours, 1 to 3 PM, Br ick Store Museum,

117 Main St., Kennebunk. Outdoor walking

tours of Kennebunk’s National Register His-

toric District. Tours depart from the Museum,

last 60-90 minutes, and cover less than a mile

on sidewalks and flat terrain. $5 per person.

Landing School Boat Launch, 3 PM,

Kennebunk River Basin, Mat Lanigan Bridge.

View the newly-launched Landing School

student boats along the river and from the

bridge and sidewalk in Dock Square and

Lower Village. Free.

Kennebunkport Historic District Walking Tour, 3 to 4 PM, White Columns, 12 Maine

St., Kennebunkport. Walking tour is a 1-mile

walk through historic Kennebunkport. 45-

minute tour, $10 per person.

River Tree Arts Artisan Show featuring Maritime Works Opening, 4:30 to 7:30

PM, River Tree Arts, 35 Western Ave.,

Kennebunk. An evening of wine and cheese

that feature Maine artisan booths and fine art

in the gallery.

Castaway Cove for Kids, 5 to 7:30 PM,

Seafood Center of Maine, 1181 Portland

Road, Arundel. It’s all hands on deck for this

family-friendly fest, feast and fun! Who

doesn’t love bouncy houses, sea-life touch

tanks, face-painting, a clam cake eating con-

test, plus so much more?

Cape Arundel Seabreeze Social, 5 to 7 PM,

Cape Arundel Cottage Preserve, 1976 Port-

land Road, Arundel. Enjoy poolside cocktails,

appetizers, outdoor fire pits and more as you

tour Cape Arundel Cottage Preserve and en-

Pirate Pub Crawl, 8 to 11 PM, Federal

Calling all mateys for the Pirate Pub Crawl

taking place in Lower Village, Kennebunk,

visiting five rogue establishments over an

der dish, with prizes awarded. In lieu of ad-

mission fee, COS food pantry donation re-

quested. Ahoy Mutties Photo Booth, 11 AM

to 2 PM, outside Digs, Divots and Dogs, 2

Ocean Ave., Kennebunkport. Lucky Pup Res-

cue and Digs, Divots and Dogs want you to

bring your furry friends for a nautical photo

shoot. Donate $5 to Lucky Pup Rescue and

receive a digital print of your furry friend.

Classic Maine Lobster Bake, 4 to 7

PM, Pilot House, 4 Western Ave.,

Kennebunk. Enjoy a classic Maine sta-

ple along our working waterfront. Feast

on freshly steamed lobster, corn, pasta

salad, and blueberry pie, then sit back,

enjoy the live music and beautiful view.

$25 for lobster/$15 non-seafood/$10

Rock the Boat After Party, 8 to 11

PM, The Spirit of Massachusetts, 4 Western

Ave., Kennebunk. This special VIP after-

party will feature live music, a champagne

toast, small bites of delicious food, and crea-

tive cocktails at the cash bar. Advance reser-

vations are required as space is limited, $50

per person, pre-purchased tickets required.

Launch! River Lights Parade Dessert Par-ty, 8 to 10 PM, Federal Jack’s, 8 Western

Ave., Kennebunk. Enjoy a dessert buffet, as

you enjoy the boat parade from the best seat

in town.

Sunday, June 18 Blessing of the Fleet, 9 AM, Cape Porpoise

Pier, 81 Pier Road, Cape Porpoise. A tradition

in seafaring communities, our local fleet will

be blessed by the Rev. Charles Whiston of

Kennebunkport’s South Congregational

Church to ensure a safe and bountiful season.
