Introduction
Its important to understand the sequence of events.
Its important to be able to relate between different books.
Otherwise… it can be confusing!!
The Bible was inspired by the Holy Spirit
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” 2 Timothy 3:16.
“for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit” 2 Peter 1:21.
OLD TESTAMENTBOOKS OF MOSES:-Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy -Also called the Torah or the Law.-The acts and the teachings of the Old Testament
church.-Talks about man’s life (the creation, the fall and journeying to the Promised Land).
OLD TESTAMENTHISTORICAL BOOKS:
-Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1st and 2nd Samuel, 1st and 2nd Kings, 1st and 2nd Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah and Esther
-The history of God’s work with his people in the new land.
OLD TESTAMENTTHE POETIC BOOKS AND WISDOM BOOKS:
-Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs and Lamentation.
-Explain the faith and how to live it.
OLD TESTAMENTPROPHETIC BOOKS:a- Major Prophets: Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and
Daniel b- Minor Prophets: Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah,
Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi
These books contain prophesies about the coming Christ.
NEW TESTAMENT
The Four Gospels: -Matthew, Mark, Luke, John
-Life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
-The New Testament Law.
-The acts and the teachings of the New Testament church.

through the Holy Spirit
NEW TESTAMENTTHE EPISTLES:The Pauline Epistles – Romans, 1st and 2nd Corinthians,
Galatians, Ephesus, Philippi, Colossians, 1st and 2nd Thessalonians, 1st and 2nd Timothy, Titus, Philemon and Hebrews.
The Catholic Epistles: James, 1st and 2nd Peter, 1st, 2nd and 3rd John and Jude.
These books are meant to explain the Divinity of Christ and the details of our faith
NEW TESTAMENTTHE BOOK OF REVELATION:-the last book written in the Bible-written by St. John the Beloved- Contains Prophecies about the second coming of
Christ and the end of days.
