The Deed that Allah and His Last Messenger love the Most
By Sh. Ali Suleiman Ali
Every and each Muslim and Muslimah eager to please Allah, so The Almighty Allah will reward him accordingly. Among the deeds that Allah and His Messenger love the most is continued deed. The spirit of Ramadan is still with us. In the blessed month, we have developed and demonstrated various good deeds. we prayed nawafi prayers, read lots of Qur’an, gave tremendous charity beside Zakah, made lots of Du’a, fed needy, friends and relatives. Every and each Muslim and Muslimah should maintain some of the good deeds we practiced in Ramadan for the rest of his life. He/her should choose the deed which is easier for him to continue doing until the next Ramadan. The first generation of Ummah of the Prophet (saw) they always ask the Prophet (saw) about the best beloved deed to Allah. The Messenger of Allah gave them a very comprehensive answered where he says “ The most beloved a’amaal (deeds) to Allah is the continued one, even if it is a small.” When Aisha (RA) was asked about what kind of works does the Prophet like the most? She replied (daimoomah) means perpetual deed. Said ibn Sa’id al-ansari commented that when ‘A’isha does something she is consistent in doing it. The Sahaba are the people of action. They ask and act, they translate their belief into action. You find no discrepancy between their actions and belief. Having said this, let me repeat some that have been previously mentioned. Generally speaking, we cannot continue doing all good deeds we developed in the month of Ramada, but we must maintain some of the good deeds developed in Ramadan. In addition to that we have different inclinations towards doing different action. Some of us are good and love attending masjid, others are good in giving charity, some are good in reading Qur’an while others are good in community works and etcs. Hence Allah stated “your efforts (i.e deeds) are of different kinds” We also read in the Qur’an where Allah says to all of us “fastibuqul-khayrat” (so compete in doing good.) May Allah help us to continue doing a’amaal salihat (good deeds) until we meet and hopefully He will be pleased with us.

Outreach Event at MCWS The MCWS Outreach committee held its annual Iftar for our interfaith friends, MCWS neighbors and city officials. Held in the newly renovated basement ,the event was attended by guests including City officials, members of the Plymouth-Canton school board, Plymouth Canton ICO friends ,friends from the Hindu temple, the Gurd-wara, neighboring Churches, the Canton Public Library and many community members. The annual iftar provides a chance for friends to break bread together and learn about the traditions of Ramadan. After the recitation of the Quran , Dr Nadeem Siddiqui ,explained to the guests what Ramadan is all about, its do’s and don’ts. After the Adhan, guests were served dates and iftar snacks, after which maghrib salah was performed in jama’a and the guests were invited to pray or observe. Dinner was then served. Our friend Lisa, of the ICO fasted to show her love and support as well. Another friend Rachel mentioned how her daughters were happy to see other faiths fast as well. The event was thoroughly enjoyed by the guests. We would like to thank our volunteers for their support for making the event a success.
