THE JOURNAL OF BACTERIOLOGY is issued monthly. (From 1916-1926 Volumes I-XII, inclusivepublished bi-monthly.) Two volumes a year January-June and July-December, are published.
The Subscription price for both volumes will be $10.00. Price of single volume (January-June orJuly-December) $5.00 per v,olume. For countries outside the Postal Union, add 50 cents a volume.The subscriptions of members of the Society of American Bacteriologists are included in the mem-bership dues and are handled by the Association's Treasurer, Dr. W. B. Sarles, University of Wis-consin, Madison, Wisconsin. All other subscriptions should be sent to the publishers.
Claims for copies lost in the mails must be received within 30 days (domestic). For the durationof the war, delivery overseas cannot be guaranteed and must be at subscriber's risk. Changes ofaddress must be received within two weeks of the date of issue.
New subscriptions and renewals are entered to begin with the first issue of the current volume. Shouldany issue of the current volume be out of print at the time the subscription order is received, the pro-rata value of such numbers will be credited to the next volume, and the renewal invoice therefor ad-justed accordingly.

The scientific program will include papers on the various phases of bacteriologyand related immunological phenomena. In so far as restrictions will permit, topicsrelating to wartime problems in bacteriology will be emphasized.Round table and panel discussions are being arranged and one or more general
sessions of wide interest are anticipated. A copy of the preliminary program willbe sent to all members of the Society and those who register at the meeting willreceive a copy of the abstracts of all papers. These abstracts will be published inthe May issue of the Journal of Bacteriology.
Abstracts of papers to be presented at the meeting must not exceed 250 wordsin length and must be received by the Chairman of the Program Committee on orbefore February 14th, 1944. Abstracts received after this date will not be accepted.The various committees in charge of the meeting are as follows:
