John Paul II was born as Karol Wojtyła in Poland in May 18 1920
John Paul II studied in the Krakow seminary where he became priest on 1946
He became the youngest Bishop in Poland on 1958 and became Cardinal on 1967
He was named Pope on October 1978 when he was 58 years old
As a Pope, John Paul II visited Mexico in 1979, 1990, 1993, 1999 and 2002
In 1981 he was shot by Ali Agca in St. Peter Square. Fortunately he survived
John Paul II died on April 2 2005 in Vatican city
John Paul II is considered one of the greatest leaders of the 20th century.
