The plane, piloted by Jimmy Leeward (bottom) and Dolphin Overton IV, was in route to Chandler, Ariz., from Goldsboro, N.C. The aircraft, previously owned by Overton’s father, was recently purchased at auction for $1.2 million and will be entering a private museum in Chandler. The aircraft averaged 70 mph on Friday during flight. The craft was shot at during the attack on Pearl Harbor and was used to drop smoke jumpers and supplies for firefighters in Montana during the 1960s. DECATUR
