Feeling Left in the Dark?

We know there are a lot of questions out there -- and if you've got one, chances are 50 other people have the same one. You can stay up to date with Jamestown's progress by attending the Rebuild Jamestown Community Meetings. As always, questions directed to the Mayor are encouraged during open forum and EVERYONE's participation is welcome and vital. We hope that you will join us at the next Community Meeting on March 4, 5:30-7:30, at Boulder County Courthouse, Commissioners' Chambers, 3rd Floor. Community Meetings will be every 2 weeks. If you have specific questions about the recovery plan,

please contact Mayor Tara directly. Let's bring our community home.

Cisterns and Storage Units!

The first of the cisterns has arrived! Over the past few weeks, Jamestown staff has been hard at work looking through the applicants to determine who lives here now and who can move home the fastest with access to water. The first wave of 20 grantees were notified last week, while the second wave is in the process of being notified. While there is no guarantee that everyone on the list will get one, we are working hard to this end. Please bear with us as we actively seek more funds for this project! Thanks to Red Cross, Salvation Army and the Rotary Club of Boulder Flatiron District 5450 for their generous donations to help bring our people home! (Hooray for Rebecca Lawrence, Jamestown Community Advocate, who made this happen!)

Rebuilding or Restoring? A lot is happening and many residents are digging in with their plans to restore and rebuild. If you're looking for a place to start, please take a few minutes to glance at the Jamestown Rebuilding & Restoration Guide. Inside, you'll find information regarding process, informative links about rebuilding in the floodplain, permitting direction and local contact information.

Jamestown residents interested in running for the Town Board

(Mayor or Trustee) must turn in petitions to the Town Clerk today!

[email protected]

Nomination Petition Forms require a minimum of ten signatures from

Jamestown residents residing within Town limits and are

registered voters. Any signature determined to be ineligible, will be removed from the Petition and not

counted.

See Web site announcement.

Road Update

Cycling restrictions in Lefthand

Canyon to be lifted today, Feb. 28.

Most of the heavy hauling operation in Lefthand Canyon has concluded, but construction can be expected

for several more weeks in an effort to complete a winter road in

James Canyon and Balarat. James Canyon remains restricted to local

access only until construction is complete. Cyclists are urged to be aware of construction traffic and

other maintenance activities in the area. Permits are being checked. To avoid disruption, please honor

all roadway signs and take an alternate route during daylight

hours, if possible.

Permits for access may be acquired at Town Hall and at the Boulder

County Sheriff's HQ at 5600 Flatirons.

Call for Work Orders! Our staff will be contacting each resident to discuss potential work on their properties, so please start thinking about what type of help you could use and make a list. We have a variety of volunteer groups who have approached us and even more through the county but we need to identify the work first. You can also reach out to Nina and let her know what your list is.

Christian Aid Ministries Christian Aid Ministries is currently finishing up projects at 5 homes in our community including dry wall, mold mitigation and flooring. Three of those residents will be moving home thanks to Leroy Heatwole and his amazing crew! We will miss you CAM!

Want to Set Up a Rebuilding Account? We would like to encourage people who need reconstruction and rebuilding, to set up accounts at Home Depot and Boulder Lumber (20% discount on in-store purchases at Boulder Lumber through these accounts). People who are looking to help you with your project can then make a deposit to these accounts in your name and you can use the account to purchase building materials. This is a great opportunity to do a little fundraising for yourself. You set up the account, and then let your friends and family know about it.
