The enthusiasm and motivation towards learning continues to be strong at St Wilfrids Together and I am very proud of the whole school commu- nity for their commitment to the children and their education throughout this chal- lenging time. We have tried to arrange topics so that whilst it is possible to focus on different parts of the curriculum within each of them, taken together as a whole over the weeks they will also ensure coverage of a breadth of learning. We know it is not the same as learning in the usual school format, but we can see from all the different work being sent in that so much learning is happening We continue to hear a great deal from politicians and in the media about the need for children to catch up’. Whilst we recognize how important it is that our school community does all it can to con- tinue to support the learning of our children at this time, I still believe ,as I said in March, that the most important aspect of all our work right now is to keep our children feeling safe and well. I have confidence that, when children can all return to school, the teaching profession will successful- ly and swiftly address the educational needs of the children and young people in their care. If the chil- dren return to school healthy and well, they will be in a better position to resume their learning in school. We, along with our partner secondary schools, will do everything we can to enable them to flourish, feel safe, well, happy and supported. I know it is difficult to stay calm at this time but please try. The calmer and more confident you are that things will be alright’, the better your children will cope in the current situation and in facing the changes to come. There is no doubt that this period will have had an effect on all our lives and will continue to do so for some time to come. However, please remember that peoples ability to overcome their difficulties is always incredible and as a united school community, our strength is increased. Thank you to everyone who has started to paint these beautiful kindness rocks. It is not too late if you haven t done one yet. We will be asking everyone to bring them in to school when it is safe so that we can make a rock garden display. Keep painting ….!

Thank you to everyone, both at home and in school, for another week of amazing

learning. The topic of ‘Welcome to Brighton’ seemed to hit the right note with

many people. The enthusiasm and motivation towards learning continues to be

strong at St Wilfrid’s Together and I am very proud of the whole school commu-

nity for their commitment to the children and their education throughout this chal-

lenging time.

We have tried to arrange topics so that whilst it is possible to focus on different

parts of the curriculum within each of them, taken together as a whole over the weeks they will also

ensure coverage of a breadth of learning. We know it is not the same as learning in the usual school

format, but we can see from all the different work being sent in that so much learning is happening

We continue to hear a great deal from politicians and in the media about the need for children to

‘catch up’. Whilst we recognize how important it is that our school community does all it can to con-

tinue to support the learning of our children at this time, I still believe ,as I said in March, that the

most important aspect of all our work right now is to keep our children feeling safe and well.

I have confidence that, when children can all return to school, the teaching profession will successful-

ly and swiftly address the educational needs of the children and young people in their care. If the chil-

dren return to school healthy and well, they will be in a better position to resume their learning in

school. We, along with our partner secondary schools, will do everything we can to enable them to

flourish, feel safe, well, happy and supported.

I know it is difficult to stay calm at this time but please try. The calmer and more confident you are

that things will be ‘alright’, the better your children will cope in the current situation and in facing the

changes to come. There is no doubt that this period will have had an effect on all our lives and will

continue to do so for some time to come. However, please remember that people’s ability to overcome

their difficulties is always incredible and as a united school community, our strength is increased.

Thank you to everyone who has started to paint these beautiful kindness rocks. It is not too late if you haven’t done one yet. We will

be asking everyone to bring them in to school when it is safe so that we can make a rock garden display. Keep painting ….!
