a PeopleSoft customer we are able to participate because of a corporate sponsor

PeopleSoft 8 was released Paradigm shift to the Internet and

enterprise software architecture Therefore no more code residing on the

client machine Only requires a web browser on the

DSU’s Presidential Commitment

The administration at Dakota State University have demonstrated their strong commitment to this project by allocating approximately $30,000 to cover the cost of training for faculty

With the On Campus program there is no charge for enrolling in classes, but there are costs of getting to classes

On Campus Training

Classes were cancelled for two days during the fall of 2000 for the purposes of all College of Business and Information Systems faculty and staff receiving training

One day was spent with overview activities taught by staff with PeopleSoft training

Business faculty received one day course equivalent to Introduction to Financials

Computing faculty received a technical Tools overview class

Both classes taught by PeopleSoft instructors from the Midwest region

PeopleSoft Curriculum at DSU

Two courses: BUS 270 Special Topics: ERP

– 3 credit class taught every semester since fall 2000

CSC 206 Advanced Computer Applications: PeopleSoft– 1 credit class taught one time - spring 2001

Since the inception of the program three students have obtained PeopleSoft positions

One additional is currently a finalist for a December opening

Additional students have expanded their job searches to include companies with PeopleSoft opportunities
