The Idea
For ten years the home entertainment industry has fought to keep
Microsoft out of the living room, but there’s a sense of inevitability

four billion addresses, the current IPv4 capacity is close to saturation.
The roll-out of its successor, IPv6, will release up to 340 trillion, trillion,

In its white paper ‘ESC of 2016’, published last year, CEDIA reports
that many integrators “do not have the in-depth knowledge of Internet
Protocol (IP) required to design the connected home and thus are not
ready for their clients’ needs in 5 years…the CEDIA member of 2016
must become an IP focused business that is agile enough to quickly
adjust their business model to adapt to the ever-changing CEDIA
landscape.”
