MATCHING FUNDS GUIDELINES
The Business Development Board of Martin County (BDBMC) and the Martin County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) have executed a 3 year contract for economic development services. As a part of this contract, the BOCC will match private funding raised by the BDBMC up to $100,000. The BOCC will match dollars from companies and individuals that meet the following guidelines and who will become “Investors” of the BDBMC.
1. Local governments are eligible to contribute funding to the BDBMC, however will not be
matched by Martin County. For the purposes of these guidelines, local governments are defined as counties, parishes, cities, towns, villages, or federally recognized tribal governments. Other ineligible entities include state government agencies, regional governments and entities, quasi-government organizations and regional planning organizations.
2. Investors must be registered with the Florida Department of State Division of Corporations if they are a for profit entity, transacting business in the state of Florida.
3. Investors that are located in Martin County or the City of Stuart must have or obtain the
appropriate business tax receipt(s) for their company if they are a for profit entity, transacting business within Martin County.
4. Investor Contributions less than $250 are not eligible for a fund match from the
BOCC.
5. Investor Contributions that are for in-kind services are not eligible for a fund match from the BOCC.
6. Contributions from Investors that are current dues paying members of the BDBMC, as outlined in the approved contract and bylaws of the BDBMC are not eligible for matching dollars.
7. Contributions from Investors will be used exclusively to perform functions and Services described in
the Agreement between the County and the BDBMC Exhibit “A” Scope of Services in support of Martin County’s Economic Development plan.
Any request to the BOCC for matching funds under the terms of the Agreement made between the County and BDBMC shall be accompanied by a signed commitment letter from BDBMC noting the exact use of the funds and to which programs and services the funds will be appropriated.
