• A search engine is a tool to search for information on the world wide web.

• The world wide web or simply web, is a way of accessing information over the medium of the internet.

URL

• Uniform Resource Locator, the global address of documents and other resources on the world wide web.

An Internet address (for example, http://www.indiamart.com/trade/), usually consisting of the access protocol (http), the domain name (www.indiamart.com), and optionally the path to a file or resource residing on that server (trade).

IP Address

• Every computer that communicates over the internet is assigned an IP address that uniquely identifies the device and distinguishes it from other computers on the internet.

Domain Name• A name that identifies one or more IP address. For example, the

domain name www.indiamart.com represents a dozen IP addresses. Domain names are used in URL to identify particular WebPages.
