The Program
Explore Australia and New Zealand while learning about international tourism in an experiential environment.
Through on site visitations and selected texts and readings, students will experience the social, cultural, and environ-mental impacts of tourism. Students will also examine the development and meaning of ecotourism, adventure, natural, cultural and heritage tourism options particular to Australia and New Zealand. In addition to theoretical knowledge, students will be presented with experiential learning oppor-tunities in commercial recreation involving hiking, snorkeling and exploring the Great Barrier Reef, visiting Maori villages, riding a skyline gondola, visiting the WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo and cruising Sydney Harbor.
Early registration is strongly encouraged. Proof of a valid passport is required prior to the trip. Due to the physical nature of the trip, it is highly recommended that you be in excellent health. Any disability requiring special attention must be reported to the instructor.
