Proposal 2
IH schools should commit to promoting the IH brand worldwide. To achieve this, wherever possible, IH schools sending students abroad to study a language should choose an IH school. In areas where there is no IH school, other schools could be used. Where a specific course is not offered by an IH school, even after consultation and negotiation, other schools could be used. Other schools could also be used if the IH School in the territory has received negative comments in the past from students.
This respects the geographic territory of all IH schools and acknowledges the strong links between affiliates.
Proposer: Val Hennessey
Seconder: Costantino Mifsud

Proposal: 3
iSpeak:
In principle we should look into whole area of apps – assess cost, requirements, options.
Mobile application for both iphones and other smart phones. Other APPS exist but mainly for translation of single words or phonetic sounds (see BC app).
The IH App should offer:
-Info about IH schools – links to websites
- Online tests for all languages
- Phonetic chart with word recorder
- Grammar section where people can refresh their knowledge
- translation of words or sentences with recorder for pronounciation
We differentiate because we don’t only teach English!

That we believe the formation of branded break-out groups or sub-groups within the IH affiliate network is contrary to the spirit of International House and has the potential to be divisive.
