It is also possible to send in an abstract even if the thesis is not yet finished and some data are missing. Every student can send in their abstract, as long as there is some connection to medicine.

The aim of the Summer School program is to provide international students with a highly stimulating environment and increase their knowledge in specific areas of medicine and biomedical sciences. A hallmark of all Summer Schools is the combination of clinical practice and research. Translational medicine is highly qualified at our University Medical Center. ISCOMS :Submitting your abstract is the first step. An abstract is a short summary of your research with a maximum word count of 350 words. Note; exceeding this amount of 350 words immediately withdraws you from the selection procedure. Your abstract should have the following headings: Introduction, Materials & Methods, Results, Discussion and Conclusion and Keywords. You can submit your abstract on our website (www.iscoms.com) until the 15th of February. If your abstract suffices our requirements it can be presented as a poster session, oral session or plenary session.

Furthermore, your abstract will be placed in the ISCOMS abstract book which you will receive at the conference.

AMEE 2013 Conference, Prague

It's with great pleasure that I announce that AMEE Conference 2013 is on the track, in a year that represents forty years if AMEE Conferences.

All the important informations are available in the end of this e-mail (the official e-mail sent by AMEE) and the provisional programme is available in the annex.

I also want to inform you that, like usual, an International Student Task Force will be created to help AMEE in the Conference and will send to you more information about this in the following weeks.

There are some deadlines that will come in the next weeks. The deadline for research papers and PhD reports is 12 January.  For short communications, posters, eposters, conference workshops and Fringe sessions the deadline is 12 March. 

I also advice you to read the message for the students that is present in Page 4 of the Provisional Programme.

Bali International Summer School 2013 is a one-week program of activities held by the International Affair Department of Student Association Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University in Bali. Last year, we have held the similar event: Bali International Summer School 2012. So, this is a second year of our program.

Bali International Summer School 2013 will encourage participants from all around the world to share information about their countries health system, culture, behavior, and also other unique things; an opportunity to strengthen the relationship between medical students from all around the world.

This way I would like to kindly remind you about registration for the 5th International Student Medical Congress in Košice (ISMCK). ISMCK will take place in Košice, Slovakia on 26.-28. June 2013. In case you are still considering your participation, it is time to apply.

5th International Student Medical Congress in Košice (ISMCK 2013) is taking place in Košice, Slovakia and invites all medical students and young doctors under 35 years (except PhD students) to present their works from fields of medicine, dentistry, pharmacology, public health and biomedical sciences. Passive participation has got no limits. You can present results of your research or exchange ideas through oral or poster presentation in winning categories basic science, clinical medicine, dentistry, public health, pharmacology and PhD students´ work. Moreover, we are preparing interesting workshops, trainings on special skills and great social program where you will get the chance to get to know Slovak culture. You are more than welcome to share here your scientific and non scientific ideas, subjects and opinions!

Summer School on Regenerative Medicine and Molecular Therapy, Greece

Dear fellow med-students,

We would like to invite you to the Summer School on Regenerative Medicine and Molecular Therapy, to be held 21-30 September 2013, in Athens, Greece (Biomedical Research Foundation).

Regenerative medicine is the process of creating living, functional tissues to repair or replace tissue or organ function lost due to age, disease, damage, or congenital defects. This field holds the promise of regenerating damaged tissues and organs in the body by stimulating previously irreparable organs to heal themselves. Regenerative medicine also empowers scientists to grow tissues and organs in the laboratory and safely implant them when the body cannot heal itself. Importantly, regenerative medicine has the potential to solve the problem of the shortage of organs available through donation compared to the number of patients that require life-saving organ transplantation.(U.S.A. The thematology will be covering: Biological and Molecular basis of Regenerative Medicine, Stem Cell Research, Therapeutic applications, Tissue Regeneration, Genetic manipulation of stem cells, iPS technology, Biomaterials, Stem cell Banks, Biology and Technology of Molecular Therapy, Lab animals, Regulations oversight and Εthics. Experts in the fields, will be covering the fundamentals and reach to more advanced level. 

Participants will also have the opportunity to get Lab Experience and be instructed on Scientific Writing. They will, also, be assigned, a special theme, on which they are expected to make a relevant short presentation on the last day. The best presentation is going to be awarded and certificates will be issued for the three best.

Of course, time for Social Programme, is part of the agenda, including but not limited to: Welcome dinner, tour to the Acropolis and the Acropolis new Museum, Day tour to seaside spots, Greek night, National food and drinking party and Walking tour to the Ancient market, Zappeion, Kallimarmaron stadium, Hadrian's Arch, etc..
