Gripping ideas

Innovative ideas are a tradition at the INTERBOOT. We have set trends

within the industry with concepts such as Germany’s first com-

puter-based water sports information desk, the Mediterranean

Center, the anchorage marketplace, or the Caribbean-Trophy. And,

we keep up our future-oriented course. The CharterForum, the

INTERBOOT Roadshow, the INTERBOOT-CARD as well as the INTERBOOT Media-Cup

are up-to-date marketing tools we are using for the benefit of our

exhibitors.

The INTERBOOT is more than just an exhibition. Our programme, we

organise together with the INTERBOOT SPORTS GROUP amongst others,

makes each visit to the Exhibition a fascinating experience. And

even beyond the days of the Exhibition we stay in motion. Our

INTERBOOT Roadshow tours our target countries and locally informs

about water sports and our Exhibition. With the INTERBOOT-CARD a

community offering specials throughout the year has been created

giving cardholders a sense of belonging together.

The main objective behind any action we take is attracting new

visitors and inspiring people for water sports.

Walter Thoma, Managing Director of Thoma Boote and President of the Committee for Exhibitions of the Swiss Boat-Builder Association:“Every time I watch visitors in the exhibition halls, I feel that the effort the INTERBOOT is taking to attract younger audiences to water sports succeeds.”

Bernd Flügel, Managing Director Sport Roth, Water-Colors, Ripzone and Choc: “Trend sports such as wakeboarding, surfing, kiting and snowboarding as well as fashion especially attract a young audience in hall 5. Both weekends have been extremely successful! Even if customers look for bargains, the combination of a good service and great offers makes our boothes run successfully.”

Incredible market opportunities

The INTERBOOT at the Lake of Constance offers immediate access to

three promising markets: Switzerland, Austria and Southern Germa-

ny. High assets, a great per capita income and low unemployment

rates present the buying power of the 14.3 million people living

in the trading area of the Exhibition. The area around the Lake of

Constance is known to be one of the most attractive and beautiful

ones within Europe. Over six million overnight stays a year reflect

the area’s popularity as a travel destination. It’s the ideal location

for an International Water Sports Exhibition.

Switzerland offers attractive inland lakes, therefore the country has

one of the highest densities of boats refering to the number of resi-

dents. About 100,000 boats are licensed in our neighbouring coun-

try. Over 20,000 water sports enthusiasts from Switzerland visit the

INTERBOOT each year. To our benefit every third Swiss

lives in the greater area of Zurich. The city is only 93

kilometres from Friedrichshafen and the Exhibition is

easily reached by either combination of car/ferry or train/ferry. The

Swiss Rail (SBB), the ferry services as well as the Catamaran company

have special offers. Besides, the INTERBOOT tightly cooperates with

the Swiss Boat-Builder Association. The growing SUISSE@INTERBOOT im-

posingly proves that development.

Patric Polch, Managing Director Boote Polch KG:“We have much more visitors on our booth than the year before. Even during the week we constantly have high-class conversations. Around 80% of our visitors are boat owners. It is a dream come true for every sales person.”

Elke Kagerer, Managing Director Segelzentrum Kagerer (Sailing Center):“Our expectations of gaining new customers have been completely met. This year it seems that interested parties selectively approach us and follow real purchase intentions.”

Bruno Hausammann, Managing Director Hausammann Caravans & Boote AG, Jeanneau- Importer for Switzerland:“We have come to the INTERBOOT with mixed feelings and we could not predict how the market would receive our new product, the Seaway Greenline 33 Hybrid Solar. Now the interest in the boat is tremendous. We are literally overwhelmed from 10 in the morning till 6 in the evening. Ever since the INTERBOOT has been like an in-house exhibition for us. This year our presentation is a complete success.”

Stephan Bayerle, Sales Director South Bavaria Yachtbau GmbH:“We are very happy with our presentation this year. Both our 32 and 55 Cruisers have their premiere and they are the highlight on our booth. The trend of the Exhibition shows that the overall situation improves.”

Antonio Nobilio, Sales Manager Boote Pfister GmbH:“We have one boat in the testing Harbour that the editors of “Boote” Magazine use for their ladies boat school. It is fully booked. It’s a great marketing tool for us.”

Siegfried Schnur, Managing Director Schnur Bootsservice and Brunswick-Trader:“The testing Harbour is very valuable to us. Our customers appreciate it. It helps them with their purchasing decision.”

Hans Joachim Haala, Associate Azzuro Yachten GmbH:“After experiencing the good spirit in Southampton I have come to the INTERBOOT with high expectations. They have been fully met, which is shown by several sales. The audience is a specialised one. We were able to get in touch with good customers and expect additional business after the Exhibition. The Exhibition, the atmosphere and the whole programme are perfectly organised. We feel very comfortable here and will be back in 2010.”

Unique atmosphere

The Messe Friedrichshafen is well-known for high quality comfort

and service. The architecture as well as the clear arrangement of

the Exhibition ground allow for fast orientation of both visitors

and exhibitors. Besides an outstanding infrastructure and ideal

presentation opportunities, the INTERBOOT offers a captivating pro-

gramme. Due to the proximity to the Lake of Constance, the pro-

gramme even ranges beyond the actual Exhibition ground.

The Lake of Constance with its 535 square kilometres becomes a

high-class testing area for water sports during the Exhibition. The

INTERBOOT-Harbour with 100 anchorages offers ideal opportunities

for testing and demonstration for numerous exhibitors. In addition,

visitors are attracted by a spectacular interactive programme that

comes with excitement, fun and top-class sports events. 35,000

people visited the INTERBOOT-Harbour in 2009, ten thousands of

people followed the Liquid Quarter Mile, the INTERBOOT-Trophy as

well as the Oldtimer-Parade etc. With the media the Harbour area

is extremely popular as well.

The atmosphere of the INTERBOOT is beyond comparison. We help

you to perfectly set the stage for your product.
