If a user adds an app or other content through his/her own account, he/she still has access to it, just not on the returned device

The returned device can be wiped, restored to factory settings, and then synced with the institutional/library iTunes account

This can take anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour, depending on how much content needs to be restored.

TOURS

Five iPads that can be checked out at the library circulation desk for library tours

Screencasts on each section of the libraryNumbered QR Barcodes linked to screencastsBarcodes are scannable iPad scans code and tells student about that part of

the libraryBeautiful in its simplicity

SET UP

Initial tours done by other universities relied on students personal devices to scan the QR barcodes.

When iPad 1 came out wanted to wait for 2 because knew that a camera would be on it.

iPads aren’t much good without the apps. This tour took advantage of QR barcode app that offered a tour option for students who might not be able to make the normal tour times.

WHAT IS INNOVATION SPACE

It is a multimedia computer lab open to the students, faculty, and staff of Virginia Tech, as well as the local general public, with the mission of providing assistance through free and open access to software, hardware, and specially-trained staff.

Montlieu was given a half million dollars for all of their students, approximately 430 students, to have an iPad.

They stay at school. But next year 4 th and 5th will get to take them home.

Teachers each got an iPad and a Mac Book Pro as well as cart for charging
