Two numeric systems:
SIC: 2086 (Bottled & Canned Soft Drinks)
(older/broader/fewer categories)
NAICS: 312111 (Soft Drink Manufacturing)
(newer/more categories/more drill down)
Primary SIC or NAICS = Primary line of business.
312111 is NAICS for Coca Cola.
• Assigned to companies and/or industries.
• Groups together companies in same primary industry.
• NAICS more detailed/more current than SIC
• See your professor on selection of company/industry NAICS/SIC

Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated• Publicly held.• Sells stock on NYS exchange with Ticker KO.• A lot of information disclosed to public.• Easier for you to research.
