2. In the pre-production of making ourhorror trailer, we took a lot of timeresearching other trailers to getinspiration. We looked into detail at threeparticular trailers The Blair WitchProject, The Woman In Black,Paranormal activity and ?. We thoughtthese mixed together was a good mixtureto analyze for getting some ideas, asthey our trailer either develops or 3. Our horror trailer is a found footagethemed genre, it Is about four girls whoare filming their time in a forest nearRacton Ruins and one of the girlsbecomes possessed and kills all herfriends. Our film is every much inspired by TheBlair Witch Project, Shrooms and ?which all have very similar narrative. 4. This is a descriptive narrative aboutThe Blair Witch Project :Combining Hi-8 video with black-and-white 16 mm film, this film presents araw look at what can happen whencollege students forego common senseand enter the world of voodoo andwitchcraft. Presented as astraightforward documentary, the filmopens with a title card explaining that in1994, three students went into theMaryland back woods to do a filmproject on the Blair Witch incidents. These kids were never seen again, andthe film you are about to see is fromtheir recovered equipment, found in the 5. Which is very much the same as our narrative. Inthe pre production stage we all watched TheBlair Witch project and were very much inspiredbut all its aspects. The found footage was so realistic, it made it feelso real and we wanted to create the same feelingfor our audiences with the trailer. 6. FOUND FOOTAGETECHNIQUETHE BLAIR WITCHPROJECT 7. Looking at this inspired us to use the sametechniques. Its evident within our own trailer; 8. Our story line, is very much the same asShrooms. The fact the main girl gets possessed, whilst a group of friends are camping with her, then she murders them. This is the story line thatinspired us for our film if it was every made into afull featured film. (click play) 9. THE FINALGIRL SameClothes Dirt/Blood Both inWoods 10. Another trailer we looked into with great detail, wasThe Woman In Black. As this was a big budget film incomparison with our trailer there are a lot ofdifferences. The Woman In Black could be very muchdefined as a typical mainstream horror so in a wayour trailer has challenged the conventions of this typeof horror. The Woman in Black is set in a Victorianera which is very much different to ours, maybe this iswhy films like The Woman in Black need a muchbigger budget because they have to think about mis-en scene, costumes, cameras, props etc.. But whenits a simple found footage film, everything can bemuch more natural and improvised. 11. What we particularly liked about The Woman inBlack trailer is the cutting and the editing of thefilm to create suspense. Its very quick, clear cutsand makes the film seem very jumpy and fastpaced. We have tried to achieve this affect withinour own trailer, which is very much aspired byThe Woman In Black. 12. Overall our trailer has had a lot of inspirationsfrom Shrooms, Paranmoral Activity, The BlairWitch Project and The Woman In Black. Whichall very successful horror films and was veryeffective of creating suspense and constantlykeeping their audience on their toes. We havedeveloped lots of ideas from all of these trailers. We hope that our audience will make theconnection between the rest of these found-footage trailers, yet expect something new anddifferent compared to the traditional horror. 13. TOTAL FILM is what gave us the inspiration for theMagazine. 14. For our poster, wedidnt really haveone particularinspiration, Ellie inour group isstudyingphotography andshe had priorknowledge of theconventions of aposter. 15. Overall mostly our mediaproducts are very muchinspired by other real mediaproducts.Yet it sometimes challengesreal media products also.
