In Loving Memory of Dennis LeRoy Carlson September 25, 1961-October 13, 2021

God grant that I may live to fish

Until my dying day

And when it comes to my last cast,

I then most humbly pray,

When in the Lord’s safe landing net

I’m peacefully asleep,

That in His mercy I be judged

Good enough to keep.

Interment

Strawberry Lake Mennonite Cemetery

Ogema, Minnesota

God saw he was getting tired

And a cure was not to be,

So He put His arms around him

And whispered, “Come with Me.”

With tearful eyes we watched him suffer

And saw him fade away,

Although we loved him dearly

We could not make him stay.

A golden heart stopped beating

Hard working hands to rest,

God broke our hearts to prove to us

He only takes the best.

If tears could build a stairway-

And memories a lane-

I’d walk right up to heaven

And bring you home again.
