June 24, 2018 The Nativity of Saint John the Baptist

Dear Friends in Christ, Because of the generosity of 61 families, last weekend’s ‘In-Pew Solicitation’ for the Renew + Rebuild Campaign was a huge success! Even with being able to give a tally of donations at both the 5:30 Vigil Mass and the 11:30 Mass, there were more pledge cards in the collection bag and even a few parishioners stopped by the rectory the day after with their pledges. Allow me to give a complete update of last weekend;

5:30 Vigil = $53,100.00 7:30 a.m. = $16,900.00 9:30 a.m. = $52,900.00 11:30 a.m. = $36,600.00

From all four masses, $159,500.00 was pledged! As of Wednesday June 20th, we have received 108 pledges that amount to $684,525.00. This brings us to 82% of our goal of $839,000.00. If anyone missed last weekend’s pledge event because of Father’s Day or family celebrations of graduations, please see the insert in this bulletin if you are interested to be a part of this major parish campaign.

Continuing concern for our parish properties is being addressed. Recently a damaged stained-glass window in the Cove Church was repaired and as you can see at the main entrance a temporary fix has been made to the major crack on the concrete. Very soon pot holes repair work will be done to the side driveway adjacent to exterior wall behind the statue of St. Joseph. Little by little we can get these minor tasks done because of your constant generosity to our weekly collections. I am confident that generosity will indeed bring us to and even excel our Renew + Rebuild goal. Summer is now officially here! Please remember that even on vacation our ‘Faith takes no vacation’! Please visit masstimes.org to find out the nearest church and times of masses that are near to you at your vacation destination. May God bless you these next few months of relaxation and family time as many of us will be able to enjoy some sort of time away from the ‘normal grind’ of our daily lives.

-Fr. Herbert T. DeGaris
