Participation Requirements

• Fiscal Year Requirement• Mandatory for IR to remain active in occupied billet

• Accomplished by completing AT and IDT’s

• Waiver required for IR’s unable to comply

• Substitutions used for AD tour supporting contingency, real world, AEF and school

• IDT’s may be substituted only if AD is in support of real world contingency with Plan ID (PID)

• Retirement/Retention Year Requirement• Min of 50 pts for Satisfactory Service or “Good Year”

• Determined by date of entry into Active Reserve or uniformed service

Participation Requirements

• Annual Training• Provides individual and/or unit readiness training

• May support active component mission and requirements

• MA, MB, MC, ME perform 12-14; MT and MX have no requirement

• May be a split tour if…

• Accommodates special mission or training

• Prior approval is obtained from PM

• Cannot cross Fiscal Years

• Inactive Duty Training• Provides for ancillary and specialty training, PHA, fitness test

• Must be authorized in advance by supervisor

• Required number is based on position

• MA performs 36 paid/12 nonpaid periods

• MB and ME performs 48 periods

• MC performs 24 periods

• MT and MX have no requirement

MPA & RPA

• Military Personnel Appropriation (MPA)• Used to support AD missions

• Each MAJCOM allocates funds; distributes to units

• Cat B and Cat E eligible to work for pay and points

• Reserve Personnel Appropriation (RPA)• Used to support Reserve missions

• Active Duty for Training (ADT) to supplement AT and IDT in maintaining DAFSC skill level

• Active Duty for Special Work (ADSW) provides direct staff support to Reserve programs

Orders Requests

• AT orders requests must be

• Submitted 5 duty days prior to tour start

• Or member must request VOCO from PM

• Input in AROWS NLT 31 May

• Published NLT 30 Jun

• IR must be Green when requesting MPA, school, and ADSW orders

• IR required to have AD supervisor permission, justification and be Green to perform duty outside of assigned/attached org

• Split tours for AT will be considered on case-by-case basis for members outside of commuting distance

• All ADSW requests must be submitted and approved through member’s RA using ADSW worksheet

• Rental cars are special authorization and must be requested in advance with sufficient justification

• Check in at base lodging office if orders state destination is a military installation before securing off-base lodging

• For a list of government rate hotels visit www.gsa.gov

• To claim IDT lodging expenses

• Submit SF 1164, AF IMT 40A and receipts to Dobbins Travel Office

• To claim AT lodging expenses

• Submit AF Form 938, travel voucher and receipts to Dobbins Travel Office within 5 duty days of tour end

• Provide URC and supervisor copy of AF IMT 40A or AF Form 938

Uniform Issue

• Officers• Not eligible for uniform replacements

• Must purchase PT gear

• Initial uniform allowance given at start of AFR assignment

• Eligible every 2 years for additional allowance if served on AD for 91+ consecutive days

• Submit AF IMT 1969, Officer Uniform Allowance Certificate, to RPO

• Enlisted• Authorized replacement every 3 years

• Submit AF Form 656, Clothing Request and Receipt, to BIMAA

• When on AD for 30+ days, IR has comprehensive health care coverage under Tricare PRIME

• Family• When Reserve sponsor on orders for 30+ consecutive days, family

medical/dental care covered by several Tricare programs

• Contact local Medical Treatment Facility for enrollment

• Tricare Reserve Select• Premium-based health plan that qualified Reserve members may

purchase

• $400,000 full coverage• Covers member on or off duty, 365 days/year, 24 hours/day

• Member’s responsibility to forward copy to servicing RPO and ARPC via VPC-GR for placement in Master Personnel Records

• $25,000-$100,000 in traumatic SGLI benefits• Designed to help families of severely wounded troops leave

homes and jobs to be with loved ones during recovery

• Communication• Inform CC, Superintendent, First Sergeant, Supervisor and BIMAA of
