All the fittings have a cap protection Before any assembly and tightening the cone and the sphere is cleaned with alcool and
a visual inspection is done The more critical part is the sphere, located on a dismountable part (outside) Hundreds mounting/dismounting have been performed without any issue (LAPP and
SR1) All the fitting passed the leak tests with signals less that 10-8 mbar.l.s-1 @ 20 bars He
(spec is 10-5 mbar.l.s-1 @1 bar) When we first try to damage the fitting for the repair test the leak level was too low (10-7
mbar.l.s-1) so the technician had to scratch the surfaces once again.

First step In case of issue : the torque can be increased up to 6 N.m Second step : put some glue between the sphere and the cone. The samples passed the
leak tests before irradiation but not after : conditions of the irradiation to be clarified. Third possibility : using a special metalic piece used a a seal between the sphere and
the cone (C.F Eric)
