This October, the daring, talented artist Gregory Emvy presents his much-anticipated X-Ray Series in London for the first time. Emvy’s exhibition named Human Souls will be featured in a high-profile Mayfair location and has already won support from celebrity patrons and collectors. The show will put artist’s contemporary and comprehensive body of rare, stunning, dark and never before seen art collection of multi-media canvases.

“You shouldn’t be afraid of death - be afraid of empty life” states Gregory Emvy.

In his inimitable style, using oil colour painted hospital X-Rays, Emvy transports viewers on a macabre and mesmerising journey.

Human Souls portrays nihillistic and metaphorical life stories to create chapters that reveal equal measures of joyful and harrowing intrigue. “Whatever is written in the script, what lies within us is the essence”, admits the artist. X-Ray is a mirror and a second reality.

“Human Souls is Gregory Emvy’s confession. Every work is a personal revelation, which he explores from the depths of his consciousness. We are delighted to bring and introduce such works to London for the first time.” -says Olga Timofejeva, Gregory Emvy’s project director.

1. Virgin Mary, 2014

Oil paint, X-Ray, on canvas100 x 80 cm£7,000

In this work, the artist is being reflective about the

essence of faith and the intricate way it provides

purpose and meaning to life. In his view, faith can

not be disrupted by death - only when one loses

their faith can they be dead.

3. Forbidden Actions, 2014

Oil paint, X-Ray, on canvas110 x 80 cm£5,000

The joy of life is the moment we live in, it must

be cherished and the present acknowledged -

extremities are the result of longing for more -

gluttony, desire, jealousy or yearning for the past

or the future. We tread on the path of seeking to

fulfil forbidden dreams.

4. Balance, 2014

Oil paint, X-Ray, on canvas110 x 90 cm£6,500

In achieving a perfect balance one must nurture the

present - if ‘good’ lasts for a long time, then good

becomes ‘normal’. To truly embrace happiness

one must strive to cherish the moment.

“ If for one moment we can stop analysing moments

and worrying about what could have been then we

can live in the present and experience the joy of

life. What happens now is all that matters. Inside

each and every human being live opposites that

shape and dictate our behaviour and views on life’’,

states Gregory Emvy. To find the right balance is

essential for living the full life. This painting shows

the balance of Emvy’s own demons and doubts.

5. Scream, 2014

This work illustrates a frozen moment in a life - a

silent scream. By depicting moths, the artist uses

symbols of infinity to emphasize the endless

struggle of self.

6. Medusa, 2014

Oil paint, X-Ray, on canvas110 x 90 cm£6,500

Emvy has always been fascinated by science,

here the artist analyses the beautiful facets and

treacherous stings of the sea creature ‘medusa’ (or

jellyfish as they are known in English). Medusas live

in harmony with their surrounding world but in order

to survive they must constantly be on the move.

The human soul is also never motionless,

perpetually in a status of rediscovery, seeking

answers. As a metaphor, the medusa is the image

of the soul and just as some people are beautiful,

others can pose danger.

7. Golden Heart, 2014,

Oil paint, X-Ray, on canvas100 x 70 cm£6,000

This painting is about the meaning of self-sacrifice. “My fate

is my heart in my hand.” – states Gregory Emvy. The artist is

suggesting that rules of society may be a false god; “People don’t

truly live within a modern society but only try to, they waste their

entire life doing it.” Life is essentially a sketch of their true desires

and dreams. After robbing themselves of their lives we cry too

late about fate. But what about fate - is fate what we make of it?

8. Dead Feelings, 2014

Oil paint, X-Ray, on canvas100 x 70 cm£7,000

Gregory Emvy raises a point that we should never marry

for money: “ To be able to understand clearly that by

saying “yes” one is saying “no” to oneself - you are

risking of becoming a ghost and attending a funeral of

your own feelings.”

9. Shameless, 2014

Oil paint, X-Ray, on canvas35 x 50 cm £2,500

If one loves someone, the fire is in the heart - the

emotions are at the top. If it is lust the truth is at the

bottom. The X-ray in the painting is an invitation to

observe truthfulness.
