    U900 can meet VNPT expectation?

    Page 4

    VNPT

    Expectation

    Coverage Improvement

    U900MHz 2.5~3 times larger than UMTS 2.1GHz

TCO saving - TCO (UMTS 900MHz) is less than TCO (UMTS

2.1GHz) because 30%~50% sites can be save to

cover the same area compared with UMTS 2.1GHz

    - Can reuse existing equipments

    U900

    U900 can satisfy VNPT expectation

Principles to deploy 3G in Thai Nguyen

    Urban Area

    U2100 to keep capacity

    Rural and Sub-urban Area

    U900 to improve coverage

Re-use existing equipment as much as possible

    How to deploy?

    Page 7

    1 Frequency Planning

Planning for all 2G frequency, dedicate 5 MHz for U900

2 Deploy U900 in rural area

    Improve coverage, reuse equipment

    3 U2100 Re-planning

Move U2100 to urban area to expand the capacity

    All Area ( G900 S221+ U900 S111)

Remain 5MHz for UMTS900 within all the province.

Keep 3.4MHz for GSM900. GSM can support S221.

In this case no need buffer zone any more.

During the implementation we need to evaluate existing GSM capacity and do GSM frequency planning

    for the whole network.

Huawei will cooperate with VNPT finalize the U900 quantity based on real requirement.

    1. Total 27 U2.1G NodeB

    move to Urban

    2. Deploy 161 U900 site in

    Sub-urban & Rural

    3. The site quantity for

    reference only.
