How to breath life into a dying blog – part 1

It is easy for a blog to whether on the internet vine.

The blog posts diminishing over time until suddenly one day they stop, with the blog authors kidding themselves they will find the time to pick up where they left off, but unfortunately the end of another blog.

What are the benefits to reviving a blog?

First of all not all blogs are meant to survive, perhaps the idea was wrong and you should move on.

However if the topic and aims of the blog do have a market, then a blog can be an incredible asset.

From the personal (non-business) viewpoint, a revived blog doesn’t necessarily equal increased comments, but visitor traffic can be rewarding in its own right.

From the business perspective a revived blog can help your blog rise through the search rankings, find new clients, keep clients informed, enable you to quickly release information and work towards other objectives also.

Tip 1 – Find your attraction!

Do you already receive a trickle of visitor traffic for specific keywords?

If you’ve got website statistics to hand, review how people are finding you. i.e. keywords, referrals, countries etc and then if applicable produce more well researched content for that audience.

This sounds like basic advice to anyone who doesn’t review their statistics, as often the statistics can yield rather surprising results.
