How effective is the combination of your main

product and ancillary texts?

What is your main product?

• My main product is a narrative music video for the song ‘Astronauts’ by BriBry • I wanted to explore the struggles faced by students as exam season is fast approaching.• In my video, Emily is severely struggling to cope with the pressures and Arthur notices and helps her.

What are your two ancillary products?

Poster CD PackThe CD pack had to follow the same line as the poster, if it was going to be part of a set. This therefore meant that I had to find another copyright free image of a nebula and edit that the same way and usethe same toolson Illustratorand Photoshop

To advertise the artist and the song, I had to make a poster. After receiving successful and positive

feedback, I developed this even further. My research showed that artists of the indie/pop genre are commonly known to use similar designs.

Which of the three products are the strongest?

• If I was to compare all three products (my poster, CD design, and music video), I would conclude that my poster is the strongest.

• This is because I was able to explore and research all the different sub genre conventions within the indie/pop genres. There are so many different styles approached, that I have a lot more freedom, compared to if I was making a video for a rock or metal song.

• However, I do feel that my video allowed me to challenge stereotypes and challenge the provocative nature of pop music videos of today.
