September 12, 2014 HOPE’s Prayer Corner – September 12, 2014 “Let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.” 1 John 3:18 As a part of the body of Christ I invite you to pray for the current and future plans that God has for HOPE Lutheran Church. Why? Because I believe that in our devotions and prayer life our conversations with God shape us in new ways, opening our hearts, eyes and minds to what God is already doing in this place and time, as well as becoming open to the ways we can participate in God’s work, here and now. Prayer is essential to the life of God’s church. So wherever we find ourselves may we “gather together” in prayer, lifting up our concerns, our celebrations, our questions, and our hopes and dreams to God. Pray for all who suffer from the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Pray that our truth and action “speak words” of God’s love for all for all God’s children. Pray for peace and understanding and an end to the unrest and war that is present in the lives of so many people. Pray for “A Home for HOPE” and that the plans in place will help HOPE Journey Forward, grounded in God’s mission of sharing the love of God in Christ Jesus. Pray that we will practice the love that is God’s gift to us remembering God is love and God’s love triumphs over all. Pray for students, parents, teachers, and staff who, as a team, all help make the coming year of school (pre-school, elementary school, middle school, high school, college, graduate school…) successful. Pray for the start of our Faith Adventures and confirmation season, that our time together will be a means of building strong and positive relationships. Pray for the all of the congregations of River Falls that seek to serve God by serving their neighbors. Prayer Flags Join us on Sunday to make your own prayer flag. There are many reasons and ways to lift our prayers to God. “A prayer flag is a way to share with the world your hope for something good you want to happen.”

HOPE’s Prayer Corner – September 12, 2014 “Let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.” 1 John 3:18
As a part of the body of Christ I invite you to pray for the current and future plans that God has for HOPE
Lutheran Church.
Why? Because I believe that in our devotions and prayer life our conversations with God shape us in new
ways, opening our hearts, eyes and minds to what God is already doing in this place and time, as well as
becoming open to the ways we can participate in God’s work, here and now.
Prayer is essential to the life of God’s church. So wherever we find ourselves may we “gather together” in
prayer, lifting up our concerns, our celebrations, our questions, and our hopes and dreams to God.
Pray for all who suffer from the tragic events of September 11, 2001.
Pray that our truth and action “speak words” of God’s love for all for all God’s children.
Pray for peace and understanding and an end to the unrest and war that is present in the lives of so
many people.
Pray for “A Home for HOPE” and that the plans in place will help HOPE Journey Forward, grounded
in God’s mission of sharing the love of God in Christ Jesus.
Pray that we will practice the love that is God’s gift to us remembering God is love and God’s love
triumphs over all.
Pray for students, parents, teachers, and staff who, as a team, all help make the coming year of school
Exciting news for Hope's new home. Because of our faithful giving, and special events and gifts, the loan on our property could be as low as $15,000 by
the end of 2014. With a little extra effort it is really possible to have our land free and clear by 2015. What a blessing
that would be!
This assumes we would use our property savings account and profit from Jazz and More for the loan payoff, and
continue our regular property giving these last four months.
So, how do we get that additional $15,000 you ask? Consider this: if our 71 member households gave an additional $212 by Dec. 31st we would total that amount.
That's right, $53 per month through December above what we are giving to property gives Hope an incredible start to
the New Year.
What do you say? Let's make it happen!
