FLY PLATE SUBMISSIONTiers: The flies you send will never be fished, just looked at so please take note:
SUGGESTIONS
COLOR: Strong deeply colored flies will stand out better against the off-white background.
SIZE: Smaller trout type flies-no smaller than #14. Salt water and Bass type-there is limited space so please try to keep your flies inside 4-5” range.
MATERIALS: Please do not send flies that will explode in the frame. Materials like marabou, long ostrich herl, flash-a-bou, etc. may be great for fishing but lousy for presentation. These softer materials will drop, fritz-out and look ragged after a short time.
SIGNATURES: Call our office and we will mail your signature card to you. Please sign all of the cards using a #2 graphite pencil only! It is your autograph and how you sign your name is your prerogative, but remember, years from now there will be someone wondering, “Who the hell is that?” if it is illegible.
PACKING FLIES: Sometimes flies arrive in poor condition and need surgery and most times I can fix them, if I know what they’re supposed to look like.
