Participating businesses will be giving out $10 in Downtown Dollars from November 23-December 31 every time you make a purchase at their store. Yes, every time for any purchase. The “money” can then be redeemed for purchases over $50 from January 1 to March 31, 2013. The Downtown Dollars can be redeemed at any participating business. All you have to do is shop local!
Enjoy downtown by horse-drawn wagon rides! Rides are available free to the public Saturdays, December 8, 16, 22 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pick up and drop off location is in the Main Street Plaza, corner of Main and Sheboygan streets.

The annual Bare It and Share It half mile run/walk takes place just prior to the holiday parade on Saturday, December 1, kicking off at 3:30 p.m. As participants make their way down the parade/race route on Main Street, they will “bare it” by shedding layers of clothing at three separate “shedding stations.” Shed a layer, continue on … shed a layer, shiver, continue
on … shed a layer, shiver some more … run to the finish! These items become a donation to the Solution Center. Participants are also encouraged to fill their pockets with dollar bills as an extra donation to the Solution Center who has critical need at this time of the year. Suggested items for laying include: hooded sweatshirts, winter jackets, hats, scarves, jogging suits, etc.
Pre-registration is $10. Registration is $15 day of event. Registration forms can be picked up at the Solution Center Office, 39 N. Sophia St.; at the Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership, 39 S. Marr St.; or online at www.fdlrugby.com or www.downtownfdl.com. Call 920-322-2006 for more information.

A true holiday classic! This year’s parade, themed “Christmas Carols,” will step-off at 4:15 p.m. starting at North Main Street and head south towards Veteran’s Park. Grab your hot chocolate, hats and mittens — you won’t want to miss the parade — and the lighting of Santa’s Tree in Veteran’s Park!
Start the wish lists and get the cameras ready! Santa & Mrs. Claus will be making a visit to the Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac on December 1, from noon to 3 p.m. Plus — in the spirit of giving — the fi rst 150 children will receive a special book from Mrs. Claus. The CMFDL has many other activities happening throughout the day including, ornament making, gingerbread cookie decorating, a holiday show, crafts, and more!
