History was made in January 1920, when the Yankees bought Babe Ruth from what is now their most rivaled team, the Boston Red Sox, starting one of the best known curses in baseball history, the curse of the Bambino.

Famous Yankee #3

Babe Ruth: Born on February 6, 1895. He was traded from The Boston Red Sox to the New York Yankees in 1920.

In 1935 he retired from the Yankees in hopes of becoming the manager of the National League’s Boston Braves.

1946 Babe was diagnosed with throat cancer and spent three months in the hospital. He Died in August 16, 1948

Berra has more World Series rings than any other man in baseball history

He was known for his funny quotes that often contradicted himself such as “It gets late early out there”

His number was retired in 1972.
