From company PT tests, to a Brigade Fitness Challenge, to mock boards, Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC), 326th Engineer Battalion (AASLT), has been bringing on the heat, staying physically and mentally fit. One Saturday, HHC woke up before the crack of dawn to exe- cute their semi annual record PT test. Excited and prepared for the event, every Soldier tried their hardest. The results were passing scores, all around. The end of last month brought the game faces out. 20th Engi- neer Brigade held a fitness chal- lenge at the stadium here on base. 13 teams of 4 Soldiers competed for the top spot. Four teams from HHC participated in the multiple events, roping up third place overall. After the Castle Fitness Chal- lenge, a company BBQ was held at the outdoor swimmingpool. Food from the DiningFacility was served, a volley- ball game ensued, and 1SG Burton brought it on with a mini Spades tournament. Many Soldiers spent time in the pool playing volleyball. Others jumped off the plat- forms, seeing who could get the biggest splash. Many lower enlisted Soldiers have been preparing for the board. Twice a week, they get a study group together, lead by some of the senior NCOs, and dissect the Army StudyGuide. All that hard work is paying off, taking into account the considerable high scores they received in the mockboard they held. In honor of our fallen com- rades, HHC participated in the Engineer Memorial 5Krun on Friday. There was a great turn out, providing a great variety of competition. Out of five companies, one of them Air Force, three Sol- diers from HHC took top places, while two others re- ceived coins for refusing to let the Brigade Commander beat them. Since being deployed, there have been a few promotions and awards. All recognized were deserving. Birthdays held in Iraq can be different, but we find ways to make them memorable. Here in Iraq, HHC works hard. At the end of the day, everyone is filled with the satisfaction of a job well done. -SPC Burnham, Kylee Headquarters and Headquarters Company brings on the heat.
