Sugar provides calories with no nutritional benefit, in fact sugar can rob the essential nutrients and may damage your metabolism in the long term. Most processed foods contain synthetic sucrose and fructose, such as in cakes, pastries, lollies, condiments, breads and low fat dairy products.
