Dear Parents/Carers, It has been a busy start to the term and our Twitter feed shows snap shots of all the opportunities and how alive the school is. I cannot thank the staff enough for their enthusiasm and commitment to the children in the school. Our INSET/Staff training day was jam packed to ensure we continue to thrive, with an exciting session from JTRS whom we have partnered with to continue to inspire us with the use of technology in lessons. During the morning, we were introduced to three apps that Mr Vidal had previously selected and we learnt how they could be integrated into our planning and activities. One of the selected apps was ‘Green Screen’ and you can see how Y4 have already used this during their World War II day - see page 2 for more detail! After a series of false starts with other companies, this morning I had a very productive meeting with Mark Smith, the Director of Headstart Holiday Courses (www.headstartsports.co.uk ), regarding holiday childcare provision at Stamford Green. We will be sending out more details shortly but the aim is to have 3 weeks available in the summer this year and then in 2017 one week at Easter and 3 or 4 weeks in the summer. I was impressed with their non franchise approach as they are a small family company that have been operating locally for 25 years. If you are in need of childcare this Easter, they are running at St Martin’s Infant School from 4.4.16 - 8.4.16. If you are attending the PTA quiz night this evening have a lovely time and thank you in advance to Mrs Garner and her team. Best wishes, Louise Druce Easter Holidays Please note that school will finish early on the last day of term which is Thursday 24 March 2016. Dear Parents/Carers,
It has been a busy start to the term and our Twitter feed shows snap
shots of all the opportunities and how alive the school is. I cannot
thank the staff enough for their enthusiasm and commitment to the
children in the school.
Our INSET/Staff training day was jam packed to ensure we continue
to thrive, with an exciting session from JTRS whom we have partnered
with to continue to inspire us with the use of technology in lessons.
During the morning, we were introduced to three apps that Mr Vidal
had previously selected and we learnt how they could be integrated
into our planning and activities. One of the selected apps was
‘Green Screen’ and you can see how Y4 have already used this
during their World War II day - see page 2 for more detail!
