Internet Access. At the Internet Society, we believe the Internet can help improve the quality of your life and the lives of people everywhere.

What is digital divide.It refers to the lack of access to information and data via digital devices, in other words those who have digital access and those who do not. The term also describes the discrepancy between those who have the skills, knowledge and abilities to use the technologies and those who do not.The digital divide can exist between those living in rural areas and those living in urban areas, between the educated and uneducated, between economic classes, and on a global scale between more and less industrially developed nations

SOCIAL CAPITALSocial capital can be defined as, the collective value of all social networks and the inclinations that arise from these networks to do things for each other.As digital citizens we gain benefit like trust, relationships and information called social capital.From being part of a social network therefore deriving value from being connected to other people.Social capital in turn enhances our communication skills, social skills, digital literacy and well being by staying connected with others. The digital divides however restrict an individual from receiving any of the benefit of social capital and the value of capital is decreased.An individual with digital access is cut from the online community and also the opportunity to develop their communication skills, social skills and most of all their digital literacy.

KNOWLEDGE CAPITAL Knowledge capital, also called intellectual capital, is the intangible asset that represents valuable ideas, methods, processes and other intuitive talents that belong to a company. Human capital refers to the skills, knowledge, and experience possessed by an individual or population, viewed in terms of their value or cost to an organization or country.

HUMAN CAPITAL Human capital is the economic value of an economic value of an employees skills set.It comprises of all the knowledge, various skills, talents, diverse abilities, experiences. Intellectual ability, intelligence and wisdom that is possessed individual and collectively within a population. These assets of resources are the total capacity of the people within the general population, these are assets or resources represent a form of wealth and this wealth can be coordinated to achieve the goals of a country or a state of a specific portion.

How can the government to solve the issues around access? Government can assist in numerous ways to solve the issues surrounding access. Government can offer cheaper alternatives of technology so that poorer countries can start using computers and have access to technology. Improved infrastructure in rural communities can be put in place in order to give the communities a chance to engage and learn new technology. It is important that government provides workshops, talks and facilities in order to help those who do not have access to the internet.
