Elementary Literacy MonthLIterarcy Month was full of excitement this year in Elemen-tary! Mystery Parent Read-ers dropped in for surprise visits during Library Lessons. There was such a fun variety of stories read to students by parents. The Hayah Reading Sharks was another enjoyable activity for students who chose to be involved where they were encouraged to read as many books during the month. Our top winner was Yaseen Mosaad. Congrats Yaseen! Our first Book Fair was also

held during our Reading Month with lots of great books to choose from. The yearly Character Parade was just as eventful with students dressed up as their favorite book character!Lastly, we ended our fabulous Literacy Month with our well-known Read-A-Thon where students race to answer ques-tions on the texts they read all month long. Congrats to all winners and those who par-ticipated!! Way to go Hayah Readers!

Seeking the Best of Two WorldsCongratulations are due to our amazing staff and students who were behind the success of the “Seeking the Best of Two Worlds” Event. As usual the choir enchant-ed us with their beautiful sing-ing and this year they sang songs with four different languages from around the world. The English play followed the choir, “Around the World in 80 Minutes,” where students were involved in writing parts of the script and brilliantly acted with different dialects and accents from eight countries. The students put through an amazing effort, choosing the play themselves from last year and working since September,

representing all the Hayah core values through their dedication, hard work and commitment The last part of the night was a very special Arabic play “My Dad’s Will.” The students were fun, talented and really beautifully engaged throughout the whole event. It is worth mentioning that the idea of the script was written by our Alumna Marwan Hafez.
