with a Warm Heart Did you know that they have stopped teaching children to write in cursive in many schools? What a tragedy! I think of the time I spent making long flowing lines and how the girls always seemed to get it better than the boys did. It’s sad that we might lose the art of shaping our letters and not just use them as blunt instruments of communication. Then I thought, when was the last time I used cursive? If you count the chicken scratch I use at the grocery store counter to pay for my groceries, you could say at least once or twice a week. But when was the last time I sat down and really used it to write more than my name? It has been a long time. Why then should I expect children to learn something I don’t even use? There are many times that I consider how the world is not as good, not as pure, not as faithful as it used to be. At the same time, the world often is as good, as pure, as faith-filled as I make it on this day. One of the great strengths of our church is that much of the good, the pure, and the faith that we experience each Sun- day is what we bring through the door. How is that for pressure? We are responsible for the faith and the feeling of our church. Even when I am not at my best if I don’t decide to write in cursive.. why should I expect others to? Jesus says, "I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.” John 15. Today I have the chance to bear more fruit. I have the chance make the world a fruit-filled, good, and faith-filled place. Maybe I should pick up a pen and see what I can do for Jesus.

To the Hardy Family,
To say “Thank You” doesn’t seem to be
enough. You are special to the Swanger, Hensley and
Copeland families. You were very special to Ken and
JoAnn Swanger. You are definitely a church with an
enormous heart filled with love and compassion.
A special thank you goes to Carol & Barbara
Means, Bob Bell, Jerry Black, Tamara Hackett, Greg &
Nona Phillips, Brother Preston and Joe Strickland. We
could not have gotten through the last three or four
months without your love, prayers and support.
Thank you for the food, phone calls and
cards. If you said a prayer and thought about us, God
bless you. May God richly bless each and every
member of Hardy.
In God’s Name & Love,

Holy Week
April 2nd: 12:00pm - Maundy Thursday “Stations of the Cross” in Sisters’
Park at St. Michael’s Hospital. We will walk together to the different
Stations of the Cross. Each station is an artistic representation depicting
Christ carrying the cross to His crucifixion. This miniature pilgrimage will
help us to remember the passion of our Christ as He faced his death. St
Michael’s Stations of the Cross is located across the parking lot from the
Imaging Center. Please make plans to join us for this meaningful
experience.
April 2nd: 6:00pm - Maundy Thursday Passover Seder Feast will be held at
the church. This will be a very special service so please make plans to at-
tend.
April 3rd: 6:00pm - Good Friday Service followed by a FISH FRY. Several of
Hardy’s “fishermen” will be preparing dinner which will be served in the
Fellowship Hall. Please RSVP if you plan to have dinner with us following
the service.
April 4th: 10:00am - Hardy’s Easter Egg Hunt - All children are urged to
bring an Easter basket and enjoy the fun. Bring your friends and neighbors.
April 5th: 7:17am - Easter Sunday Sunrise Service will be held in the foyer .
This service will be followed by Sunday school at 9:45am.
April 5th: 10:45am - Easter Morning Worship Service - Alleluia, Our Lord
Has Risen! Join us for special music and a meaningful message of faith
and resurrection.
There will be no evening service.
Dear Hardy Church,
Thank you for the groceries you have helped me with. It is very comforting when you are on a fixed income to know there is help out there when you need it.
Thanks,
Donna Lanier
