NEWS LETTER TERM 4 2016 GREENACRE SPORTS PARTNERSHIP HOSTS MEDWAY DANCE FUSION T he Greenacre Sports Partnership Dance Fusion competition was held on Tuesday 15th March 2016 at Greenacre Academy. The competition saw approximately 194 students, ranging from ages of 7-18 years old, participate from 18 different Primary and Secondary Schools within the partnership. Participants were able to choose their own style of dance, and they were judged for their creativity, technique, difficulty, confidence and overall performance. The results were as follows: Primary category: 1st: St Margaret’s at Troy Town 2nd: Warren Wood Primary Academy 3rd: Danecourt Special School Secondary category: 1st: The Victory Academy 2nd: Greenacre Academy (Josh Waka and David Benson) 3rd: Greenacre Academy (Impulse Group) We were fortunate to have the assistance of 12 Greenacre Leadership Academy students, and 2 sixth form students, who supported the event by assisting with stage management, photography, and backstage and judge chaperone duties. These pupils did a fantastic job and very much contributed towards the event being a success. The Dance Fusion event would not have been possible if it wasn’t for the support of several partners. A big thank you to Greenacre Academy for hosting the event, to A1 events organisation for assistance with stage lighting and sound, to all the schools who participated in the competition, the judges; Natalie Harris, Sam Clay, and Nina Atkinson, and finally to all the parents, family members, and staff who came to support them. TABLE TENNIS16 Greenacre Sports Partnership Schools participated in the Mini Youth Games Table Tennis Competition.

In particular, a special commendation to Pilgrim Primary School who came 1st place, and Kingfisher Primary School who came 3rd place, which is their highest place within a Mini Youth Games to date!

NETBALL18 Greenacre Sports Partnership Schools participated in the Mini Youth Games Netball Competition.

PRIMARY INFANT AGILITY10 Greenacre Sports Partnership Schools participated in the Primary School Games Infant Agility Competition on Thursday 17th March 2016 at Greenacre Academy. Participants competed in 6 events, including the runner, catcher, skipper, balancer, launcher and target throwing.
The results were as follows:
We were fortunate to have the assistance of 20 pupils from Greenacre Leadership Academy and 9 pupils from Walderslade Girls School who supported the event by leading each of the activities. These pupils did a fantastic job and very much contributed towards the event being a success.
LESSON SUPPORT: TERM 4 FEEDBACKDuring term 4, 24 teachers received the 1:1 Lesson Support, 100% of staff improved their confidence levels and 95.8% of staff rated the support as Excellent, with the remaining rating the service as Good. SSG BASKETBALL:140 Participants! 8 Schools!
On Thursday 10th March 2016, the Greenacre Sports Partnership hosted the eighth event of the Secondary School Games, the Basketball Competition held at Medway Park. 8 schools from across Medway took part in the competition and a total of 140 pupils participated.
