    NOKIA PLANT A TREE

    v During the phase I and II awareness campaigns, Nokia hadcommitted to plant a tree sapling for every handset, ofany brand, dropped for recycling by the consumers ( inthe campaign cities and during the campaign period).Nokia has tied up with a few organisations for this

    plantation. Majority of the plantation has been done by 3NGOs.

    v Ahimsa, an NGO in Tamil Nadu, has planted over 12,500saplings in the villages of Kalakattur, Kooram,Maruthuvanpadi, and Sankarapuram, all in the

    Kancheepuram district of Tamil Nadu.

    v The Rotary Bangalore Midtown has planted over 10,000saplings in Bangalore University and some educationalinstitutions in Bangalore, Karnataka.
